Paris Fashion Week SS13

Cocaine Princess here.

First it was New York then London then off to Milan and now we jet off in style to the "City Of Lights." Yes my Lovelies, romantic Paris. Paris Fashion Week kicked off today and I ask, is there anything more stylish than that? I think not. Over the course of 8 days 95 elegant and luxury brand fashion houses will be showcasing their collections for Spring Summer 2013. Here are the highlights from today, Day 1:

"Anthony Vaccarello "
The collections that were presented today were low-key and for emerging talent, one of them being Anthony Vaccarello who has made quite a name for himself since Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar in one of his dresses. I absolutely LOVED his collection. It was all about the leg, his pieces oozed with sex appeal. The collection featured micro mini skirts with a draping effect and dresses that gave off a Grecian/Togo feel.

Cédric Charlier

The models on the catwalk appeared with a red streak of makeup across their eyebrows giving Cédric Charlier's collection an added futuristic feel to it. The pieces itself were more on the industrial looking side with shift dresses, pajama style trousers and shirts buttoned up to the throat. It was simple and clean.

Fashion News & Notes

Emmanuel Ungaro will be returning to the runway for PFW SS13. The luxury brand label who has not shown a catwalk collection since October 2011 recently appointed a new creative director-- Fausto Puglisi who is responsible for Madonna's tour outfits. His last creative director was Lindsay Lohan, yes that Lindsay Lohan. When news hit he had hired the actress it was met with harsh criticism after all industry insiders couldn't fathom how she even landed the job when there were so many up and coming talented designers who would have killed for the position. What exactly were her qualifications to be appointed creative director? None. Had Ungaro lost his mind? Yes. As predicted the collection failed. It was called a "hot mess" to "disastrous"

Kanye West will not be showing his collection in Paris this season. I never understood why in the first place he even presented his line in the French capital last season which by the way were met with poor reviews. This is Prêt à Porter--- aka the Big Leagues-- Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton,YSL. Pssst, although it hasn't been confirmed but the rumor through the grapevine is his collection maybe discontinued.

How can I talk about Paris without mentioning sweets and pastries? Cest impossible, non?!  Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz collaborated with legendary confectionary company Ladurée, a luxury cakes and pastries brand based in Paris to create this mouth watering delight:

The cartoon-like design features sketches of stylish women on red Ladurée boxes and contains eight bubblegum flavored macaroons which Alber Elbaz describes as 'the bubble of childhood'. Flavors include orange, bubblegum pink, and fashionable wine red. The Lanvin creations of Alber Elbaz "not only make women beautiful, but also prove that sweets and beauty can go hand in hand," said the fashion house.

Hmm, perfect for the fashionista with the sweet tooth

Check out their amazing window display. The delicacies went on sale today just in time for the city's biggest week in fashion.

And speaking of mouth watering delights, look what someone bought me:

A stiletto cupcake! I usually refrain from sweets and anything fattening during the week but in honor of "Paris Fashion Week" this fashionista with a sweet tooth couldn't resist.

Tomorrow: "Day 2: Paris Fashion Week"
