Texas Diaries Part 3: Botanical Gardens & Puh-Kaan Pie

Breakie at Yolks this morning, where apparently I had to taste grits in order to experience an authentic Texas breakie. As we ate a huge parade was occurring in honor of the upcoming college football game that was occurring later in the day. Texas A&M vs. Arkansas Razorbacks.

Afterward, we headed to the Botantical Gardens, where we spent a good couple of hours admiring such beautiful flowers and plants before heading to lunch.

Pic 5: Japanese tea lesson while admiring the Japanese Gardens.

Lunch was at "Risky Barbeque," where my oh my where I experienced a good ole fashioned Texas BBQ, including fried okra & brisket. For dessert, Pecan Pie with ice cream. And down here in the south, I was informed, "Miss Star, it's pronounced "puh-kaan" and not "pecan"

Texas Diaries Part 2: The White Elephant

About last night: Sept 27/24

About last night: Dinner at Joe T Garcia, opened since 1939- Tex-Mex restaurant where the lineups to get in are never ending, but luckily, we had reservations. And omg, its's quite possibly the best Mexican food outside of Mexico.

Afterwards we all headed to the stockyards and hung out at The White Elephant.

Did some shopping at Mavericks - guys bought some shirts, and us girls got some jewelry. The famous western store is the same store where the Yellowstone costume designer buys the cowboy hats the cast wear, including their boots. Apparently, all the guys want the hat the character Cal wears.

Night ended up at the Hotel Dover, which is home for the next couple of nights.

XOXO,

Cocaine Princess
