The Exciting Month Of September

Cocaine Princess here.

September is always an exciting month and no not because the colorful season of Fall arrives but because it's the most fashionable time of the year. Yes it's Fashion Week, where designers will be displaying their latest collections. The world will get a taste of what's "in" and what's "out." I'm beyond excited and can't wait to see what the designers have in store for Spring/Summer 2014. Fashion Week kicks off in The Big Apple and then will move to London, Milan and lastly Paris. Two of the shows in the Big Apple I'm looking forward in watching is Victoria Beckham (only because David Beckham will be of course sitting in the front row supporting his posh wife) and designer Tommy Hilfiger's show. I don't normally wear preppy style clothes but word has it his new collection will feature the ease and attitude of the West Coast lifestyle and iconic California beaches.

And speaking of fashion, did you hear about Russell Brand and Hugo Boss? Russell unleashed a rant aimed at Hugo Boss over the clothing brand's ties to the Nazi Regime. The comedian took to the stage Tuesday, Sept. 3rd at the British GQ Men of the Year awards at The Royal Opera House in London to accept the Oracle Award. Instead of a short thank you, Brand decided to use the podium to take a jab at Hugo Boss, the event's presenter. He appeared on stage after London Mayor Boris Johnson picked up the gong for Politician of the Year. After Johnson joked about the recent alleged chemical attack in Syria, Brand said: "Glad to grace the stage where Boris Johnson has just made light of the use of chemical weapons in Syria meaning that GQ can now stand for genocide quips. I mention that only to make the next comment a bit lighter because if any of you know a little bit about history and fashion, you'll know Hugo Boss made the uniforms for the Nazis. "But they did look f*****g fantastic, let's face it, while they were killing people on the basis of their religion and sexuality." Brand also placed a finger under his nose to mimic the Adolf Hitler mustache and did a Basil Faulty-style comedic goosestep across the stage. He was then ejected from the awards ceremony's after-party following the joke about the event's £250,000 sponsor, reportedly shouting "Nazi sympathizers."

Oh but it doesn't end there.

Brand later tweeted an argument he had with GQ editor Dylan Jones to his near-seven million followers. He wrote: "GQ editor: 'What you did was very offensive to Hugo Boss.' Me: 'What Hugo Boss did was very offensive to the Jews.'" #nazitailor

Also present at the award show was The Who's Roger Daltry who had this to say in regards to Boris Johnson: "When I was listening to Boris's speech I was reminded of the wonderful lyric that I sang when I was 19 years old: 'I hope I die before I get old'."

Never let it be said the world of fashion is boring.
