What Possible Reason Could They Have For Sticking Around?

 Cocaine Princess here.

It's hard to believe the first day of Spring is March 20th given how brutal the weather has been for us especially this year. A few of the things we've suffered through courtesy of Mother Nature:

-One snow storm after another
-A massive ice storm
-A blackout because of the ice storm
-A record amount of snow accumulation

And

A record number of cold weather alerts, 32 to be exact. To quote my neighbor who was shovelling his driveway on Sunday, "F----ing winter needs to F---k off."

Unfortunately it seems that winter will be sticking around. According to Environment Canada the cold weather will be here 'til April.

Yesterday it was -19C and as cold as it was I bravely went outside. Today, March Madness officially begins at the mall but a few select stores decided to start one day earlier and so of course I had to go. I scored some pretty sweet deals. Anyways, as I was in the parking lot heading towards my car I spotted these:

Although they were gracious enough to stop and pose for pictures this particular group didn't seem friendly but then again I'm not too sure if geese in general are friendly creatures. First, they literally surrounded the driver's side door and wouldn't move. Secondly, they began strectching out their necks while staring directly at me--- and believe me their stares were quite menacing too. A car then came from around the corner and after a couple of honks the geese finally decided it was time to move and they did so by taking their time.

Now I could be wrong but I was always under the impression geese fly south for the winter?  I don't understand why they're still hanging around here in frigid temperatures.

What possible reason could they have for sticking around?

1. Have their passports expired?

2. Are the US border agents giving them a hard time?

3. Are they wanted in the Sunshine State for a crime?

Is this a concern? Should I alert someone that the birds are still here? If so, who? It's not just one or two but several flocks.

****

My loyal and dear readers, it's finally Friday.

Remember we turn our clocks one hour ahead this week which means one less hour of sleep (BOO!) but more daylight (YEAH!) hours. At last it's that time of year where the sun will no longer be setting by 4:30pm.

Whatever your plans are have a brilliant weekend.~x
