4 Years Ago Today....
Cocaine Princess here.
Break out the bubbly and release the balloons because it's time to celebrate. Yes my lovelies, it's the most wonderful time of the year. No, not that time of the year when that jolly fellow in the red suit tries to shimmy his way down the chimney. It's that other wonderful time of the year: "MY BLOG'S ANNIVERSARY"
Excuse me while I pause to sing this song and do my happy dance. Feel free to join in.
"Happy Anniversary To Me,
Happy Anniversary To Me,
Happy Anniversary Colombian Princess,
Happy Anniversary To Me"
Today my little blog turns 4 years old, Wow! Where does the time fly? I posted my premier entry on September 20th 2007 at 12:17am.
Most of my blogging {like this entry} is done in the late hours because as most of you are aware by now I have a bitter relationship with Mr. Sandman– and that’s okay. I do my best writing at night, my mind seems much clearer and free from most distractions.
With the exception of my best friend Valentina, when I started posting I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in reading what I had to write but that’s not why I started blogging. I blog because of my love for writing. I love the freedom of being able to express my thoughts in written form and some-days that includes just posting a song. I do however have days when I simply am unable to express my thoughts. No matter how hard I try my thoughts will remain stuck in my head and when I try releasing them into words, instead of the words flowing they will be jumping all over the place. We all have those days, right? You know when you’re just so full of emotion everything comes out all wrong.
I can’t say I have a favorite post seeing how each one is near and dear to me but I do know there hasn't been anything that I've written that I regret since every word I have written has come directly from my Latin heart, and although it may seem I share quite a bit there are things I prefer keeping to myself.
During the course of 4 years I have formed a group of awesome readers whose blogs I quite enjoy reading. I also have my share of haters. If you don’t like my blog that’s okay, we’re all entitled to our opinions but what I don’t understand is the need to leave unpleasant comments. Seriously, why are you reading my entries if you hate my blog so much? While I’m on the subject of comments-- to the individual who sends me daily drug rehab facility information through my blogger comment form– as much as I appreciate your concern, please realize I don’t have any type of drug problem. I think it’s fair to say you really haven’t read through my posts. Perhaps you think I do on account of the name, “Cocaine Princess.” Allow me to explain-- I originally wanted to title this blog “Colombian Princess” but my best friend convinced me to use Cocaine Princess. She said and I quote, “its sounds cuter.” I disagreed with her but I thought I’d give it a try.
My loyal and dear readers, I sincerely thank each and everyone of you for taking time out of your day to drop by to read my blog and I appreciate the comments. And the ones who leave comments/questions that have absolutely nothing to do with my posts-- spammers, chain letter senders-- you know who you are-- you don't get any of my love. Peace Out.
XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess
