How's everyone's summer so far?  I've been having a blast with my friends. We've been taking advantage of our warm weather as much as we can because we all know up here in the Great White North summers don't last very long for us.  Soon the sun will be setting by 4:45 in the afternoon & temperatures will be bone chilling.

I can't believe how quickly summer is passing by. Fall is definitely around the corner----

-The days are getting shorter. 
-Endless back to school sales flyers in the mailbox .
-For the past 2 weeks people have been asking me about my Labor Day plans

Now I'm going to change the subject and go from writing about the weather to writing about music--  

Has anyone seen Nicki Minaj's new video, Anaconda?

There was an interesting discussion the other day regarding the video. Some are saying, the video is empowering to women while others are saying, had it been a male singer the video would be labeled degrading to women.

What do you think?

Me? I'm just wondering what Sir Mix-A Lot thinks?

Alcohol and The Flu

I apologize for not posting last week. I was sick.....the kind of sick that hits you all at once. There's never a good time to be ill but it sure sucks during the summer. I suppose I would have recovered sooner had I not gone into the city last weekend to party-- hey it was Caribana weekend! And to make matters worse I may have guzzled back a drink......or two. And oh boy, what a stupid thing that was.

I made a metal note to myself the next day: Never again will I drink alcohol when I'm sick.

According to sister that falls under the category of common sense.

Although I'm not able to keep solid foods down yet, my coughing and sneezing is lessening but my head still feels like it's in a vice grip.

*Sigh*  I'm slowly on the mend.
