Update: Resolutions-- Chopstick Challenged

Cocaine Princess here.

We're in Day 13 of the New Year & I like to say I'm doing quite well so far in keeping my resolutions.

I'm writing more--Check!

I'm reading more--Check!

Master The Art Of Using Chopsticks--

I'm having slight trouble with this one. As you recall in my last entry I posted a how to video and figured, this ought to be a piece of cake. How hard can it be?"

Well it's proving to be quite difficult--- at least for me it is.  On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, I hate to say it but I have to give myself -0. I must confess, I the Colombian Princess am Chopstick Challenged.

In my personal opinion I think forks are far more superior for certain things, for instance I wouldn't use chopsticks to eat meat but I would when eating a salad.  With chopsticks I'd be able to neatly fold the giant leaf of lettuce instead of stabbing the pieces of lettuce smothered in Ranch dressing and those tiny delicious baby tomatoes with a fork and then opening my mouth wide open and shoving it in. And I suppose chopsticks can come in handy grabbing those little food crumbs that forks can't.

Regardless of how complex it seems to be, I'm not going to be discouraged. I'm determined to fulfill my resolution of learning to use Chopsticks. I'll keep you posted with updates.

2017: Resolutions

Cocaine Princess here.

Welcome to Day 6 of 2017. I hope everyone had a great time ringing in the New Year. What did I do? Last year I attended a James Bond "Casino Royale" theme party but this year I decided to stay in. Sissy-poo and I ordered enough food to feed a small country and binged watched on American Horror Story: Hotel until the countless NYE specials began airing. We kept flipping back & forth between Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve, CNN's NYE with Anderson Copper & Kathy Griffth &amp and lastly Pitbull's New Year Special from Miami. By 9pm I could hardly move and between 9:30pm until 10:30pm I fell asleep on the couch. I was in what was known as a "food coma." We ordered Chinese, pizza, a buffet of hot finger foods and at one point I ate an entire bag of Cheetos, the puffy kind. I figured I’d make the last day of 2016 an epic cheat day.

As I reflect on last year (which was literally a week ago) looking back on my personal life 2016 was simply amazing to me which is why I’m looking forward to what 2017 has in store.

With a fabulous New Year Upon us tradition dictates we make resolutions. For the past couple of years I’ve made the same one, “Learn To Use Chopsticks.” Just once I’d like to go into a Chinese restaurant and not use a fork. Every year this makes my list because I’ve never once achieved it--- partly because I’ve been too lazy to learn, however this year I  made myself a promise that before 2017 is over I will have fully mastered the art of using chopsticks.

Last year I made a resolution to write more. Hmm, I sort of kept that promise. I wrote but not as much as I wished I did, but I know with certainty I’ll be writing a lot more in 2017.

Another resolution--“cut back on the caffeine.” I’m not too sure how I feel about this one, in fact I may have a little trouble with it. As you are all aware by now I don’t drink coffee or tea, so my source of caffeine comes from either drinking Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper. You know how some folks say  “ahhhhh”  after their first sip of coffee in that morning, well I’m that person with a bottle of Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper (depending on my mood) saying “ahhhhh” after my first sip of the stuff. Part of my reason for the need for caffeine is because how tired I feel in the mornings due to my nightly battles with the Sandman. I usually go through 2-3 bottles a day. I’m trying to cut down to only 1.

I also made a resolution to Read More. My usual way of unwinding at night after a long day at work is simply by plopping down on the couch with the TV on & checking and responding to my emails. I still plan on unwinding by plopping down on the couch with the TV on but without my computer. Instead I'm going to be reading.

What are some of your resolutions?

My loyal and dear readers, it’s finally Friday.

Whatever your plans are have a supreme 1st weekend of 2017. ~x
