The last day of 2024 has arrived. It was a wonderful year filled with traveling and meeting some amazing people who will be forever in my heart. This past year, I was also faced with some challenging moments, which I learned the only way to deal with it, is thru humor. Sometimes laughter truly is the best medicine. I have a lot to be thankful and grateful for. 🙏

In a few hours, a New Year will be arriving. I am so ready for 2025, and all that it has to offer. My suitcase is packed, and I can't wait to start working on my tan and feel the sand between my toes. Salt, lime, tequila!! 👙🌴✈️🌎

We Beat The Pants Off Of Germany!

We may have lost to Latvia, but we beat the pants off of Germany with the 3rd goal being scored with less than 2 seconds in the last period.

Ohhhh next, we play Team USA on New Year's Eve. And you know that will be a game to watch.

BTW, Team USA lost to Finland, today.

WJC - Canada vs Latvia

"The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), sometimes referred to as World Juniors, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. It is traditionally held in late December, ending in early January (beginning from Boxing Day to January 5). The tournament usually attracts the top hockey players in this age category.

When this time of year comes around, I make it a point to try and watch as many games as I can, especially when it comes to Team Canada. Thank goodness they tournament was being held in Canada. Previous years have been in Europe where I'd wake up at 2am because of the time zone to support Team Canada

And today's game-- Omg what a game! Canada was leading against Latvia until the Latvians scored in the 3rd period, tying the game and going into overtime. In overtime, the game was still tied, leading to a shoot-out. First shoot-out, no one scored. It wasn't until the second shoot-out Latvia scored, winning the game 3-2.

What an upset-- even the commentators were stunned and left speechless at Canada losing. 🤦‍♀️

On Sunday, Canada plays Germany. That's gonna be one to watch.

Christmas Day & Nosferatu's Coffin

Spent Christmas Day at the movies with sissy-poo  watching"Nosferatu," 🦇 which was released today. It's the remake of the 1922 silent film of the same name.

We bought our tickets in advance, which included popcorn being served in Nosferatu's coffin, made out of tin.

If a coffin full of popcorn doesn't scream Christmas, I don't know what does.

The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan made a local stop yesterday to spread some holiday cheer, and it looks like I made the "nice list" after all. Heard it straight from the big jolly guy in the red suit himself.

Texas Diaries Part 3: Snake Meat?

I didn't check how many steps I took, but I'm pretty sure we surpassed the daily recommendation. Had another great day exploring and shopping at Legacy. Afterward, we stopped for pizza - after all, why not? We burnt enough calories walking. Unfortunately, there was no pineapple on the menu. I was informed, "Oh no, Miss Star, we don't put pineapple on pizza...ever" (But somehow, snake-meat is considered an acceptable topping here. 😬)
