Texas Diaries Part 2: The Evening Star

My pre-birthday dinner tonight was at the exquisite restaurant Truluck's- Ocean's Finest Seafood and Crab. If you know me, then you're well aware I dislike seafood, so I was a bit hesitant dining here, but I was assured there was also steak.

The food, the service, the ambience, and of course the company were totally divine. Meatballs were the appetizers since everything else was seafood. Main course: Steak with truffle bearnaise sauce, and truffle fries, and the Mediterranean Branzino, served with heirloom tomatoes, olives, capers, chives and extra virgin olive oil. And dessert- carrot cake. I took only one bite and savored that piece. Oh Lordy, those Texas pecans...

Pic 9: In the world of astronomy, a huge celestial event will be taking place. In a few days, six planets will be visible in the night sky: Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. In other words, "the planets will be aligned." Tonight, two of the planets were visible. Venus aka "Evening Star" and Saturn. We took the pic coming out of the restaurant. 🌟🇨🇱

Went to see Gladiator II today with sissy-poo.

I've been meaning to see it since it since it was released, and I finally got a chance today. There's no comparison to the first one, but I really liked this one. And Denzel Washington's character steals the show.

Pic 2: Yesterday, Team Canada played Team USA on New Year's Eve. It was bad enough that we lost to Latvia a few days ago but to lose to the Americans on Canadian soil?!

😫 When the teams weren't fighting, Canada kept getting penalties after penalties. In total, we received 8! The most ever in this tournament. By the 5th one, I was like, "WTF Team Canada? You're literally handing the game the Americans." Such a painful game to watch. We lost 4-1.
