Cocaine Princess here.

If you follow my blog then you know I love Duran Duran. My mom introduced me to their music and I have been a devotee ever since. Simon is and forever will be my favorite. Next is Nick, the only guy in makeup I ever found to be cute. He doesn't wear it so much anymore.

In November 2007 the band released their 12th studio album Red Carpet Massacre, and embarked on a spring-summer 2008 world tour missing several major cities and countries. They gave their word they would return in the winter. Last week it was announced Duran Duran is continuing as promised with their tour and making a stop in the T-dot!

Tickets went on sale today. I bought two VIP Packages for 'A' and I. The VIP Package is always the way to go. All I know is our seats are guaranteed in the first 3 rows. We won't know what row we will be seating in until the day of the concert.

I last saw the band perform 3 years ago with my sister and mom. It was the Astronaut Reunion/25th Anniversary World Tour with all 5 original band members performing on stage together for the first time 20 years after Live Aid 85, when some of the members parted ways. Andy Taylor once again is no longer with the group.

Let the countdown begin until I see both concerts!!!

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

I was a jr. partner when 'Hungry Like The Wolf' was a big hit--you have no idea how incredibly old I feel at this moment. Where did my youth go? Youth is definitely wasted on the young, i.e. newbie.

Peace out chickie.

NOICE!!!! :)

Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand... That's what came to my mind when I saw your blog and your post on Duran Duran ;)

I don't have a Duran Duran favorite song, per se, I just like their music. I do agree Simon is pretty nice to look at!

Wow -- two great shows! Any idea what Duran's set list will be? I hope they do "Union of the Snake."

How come there are no Duran Duran videos on your mini player?

Miss Caught Up at 2:28,
Yes he is.

Dears SFL,
I'm not sure of the set list. Soon as I do I'll post it.

Andy must be kicking himself for leaving the group. Look at all he missed out on since he left!!

Don't worry Princess. These old fossils wish they were me.

We know your favorite DD song. What is your least favorite DD song?

"Shake up the picture the lizard mixture
With your dance on the eventide
You got me coming up with answers
All of which I deny.'

A song about overthrowing communism!
Great video!

Hello newbie at 8:26,
I don’t have at least favorite song however there are a few songs I can’t listen to because of the emotional response I receive. ‘She’s Too Much’ is one of them.
You can feel and hear Simon's heart aching as he sings. The first time I heard it I thought my heart was going to break. I always skip listening to the song.

For years I use to mumble the intro, I didn't know what Simon was saying. Yes it is a great video.

Wow, you're a lucky girl! I think seeing Madonna once in my lifetime would make my life complete in so many ways! I can't wait to hear the story.

Duran Duran- who doesn't like them? Seems to me they always had a hit on the 'Top 40' i think it's awesome you speak of them so much. The woman on the covers resembles you (what you look like my head) :) Have a wonderful day CP.

Princess, Why do you live in Canada where its colder than a polar bears toenail? Do you really like it that much?

I recall I liked Duran Duran before most folks even knew who they were back in the early 80s. Never much cared for their later stuff. Rio was definately their best ablum as far as I am concerned. That album pretty much summed up that period in pop culture.

By the time you see Madonna, the split from Guy Ritchie should be all but complete and she will be single again.

I will be posting in a few days.

I have never heard Canada described that way. Yes it is cold but there are places in the US that are much colder. Canada is a beautiful country. Quiet and you have your privacy.

Bruce at 7:59,
The 80's were home to the British invasion/ new romantic era. They were so hot in terms of popularity back then.

Madonna and Guy, the press was speculating for months about their split.

Hayley,
I'll be sure to check it out.

My fav Duran Duran album was Union Of The Snake (and yes, I am probably showing my age...lol!). I love going to concerts too! This week I went to see 'Queen' in concert. It'll never be the same without Freddie Mecury, but it was still an amazing evening. I was lucky enough to be up at the very front of the arena. My ears are still ringing...lol!

I hope you have an amazing time at the Madonna Concert. It is a shame that Madonna is breaking up with Guy Ritchie. (They live not far from me in Wiltshire).
