Teachers

Cocaine Princess here.

Today is World Teacher Appreciation Day!

Having a sister who is a teacher I know how hard teachers work and are often under appreciated.

To all the teachers, I send you my love and appreciation for all that you do.

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

Princess my grandfather was a law professor. He is the reason I become a lawyer. He was a great teacher and mentor.
It's election season up where you live, must be an exciting time.

newlywed,
You're very welcome.

newbie,
Yes it's election time, no it isn't very exciting. The only exciting news is the Bloc Quebecois party trying to get their province to separate from Canada. They try every election season and fail each time. Other than that it's very quiet. The US election is making front page news up here almost everyday.

I admire teachers. I could never be one... It is an admirable career and a very tough one!

My ninth grade teacher was awesome. I was heading down the wrong path and he turned me around and made me the person I am today. He cared more about my future than my parents.

Why do the Bloc Quebecois party want to separate from Canada?

1:32,
Canada doesn't need a self serving separatist party that only cares about one province.!!

The sad thing is how many supporters that separatist party has in that one province it has special interests in.

Bloc = separatists, special interests of one group of "CANADIANS", and the demise of Canada as we know it if elected. There is no room in Canada for such special interest political parties who only want to represent one small group of {for lack of a better word} Canadians.

AGAINST! The BLOCheads and their friends should go back to their little communist party! The fact is, it wouldn't benefit Quebec or Canada if Quebec were to become it's own sovereign nation, no matter what the Bloc tries to sell to francophones (because let's face it, the Blocheads don't care about anglophones and allophones in Quebec).

P.S. If Quebec does separate, how soon before we have an Alberta Sovereign Party in federal politics?

Teaching requires patience and compassion which your sister must have.

Clearly there is no role for a separatist party to operate in a federal parliament other than to obstruct and make it as difficult as possible for the parliament to function so they can say the "system" doesn't work and create some sort of twisted justification for dismembering the country.

If the BQ thinks they have a right to a vote in the federal parliament then I demand equal justice. I want a vote in any secessionist referendum.

One more thing princess,
If all the members of that party died, holy crap I'd have a huge party!

4;19,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with regional parties. Let me remind you that the CCCF became the NDP. They BQ are just a bunch of flat earth society members that forget the fact that the "Hinglish" won the battle of the Plains of Abraham. Having said that, let them separate and see what kind of treatment they get from France. It's nothing more than "we love your resources but not you". Eventually they will play the part of the prodigal son, especially if the rest of Canada refuses to let them: use the currency, pay back their share of debt, refuse transfer payment, allow aboriginals and their land remain Canadian, need I go on?

Happy Teachers Day!

Teachers are fantastic. I admire their way of dealing with mouthy kids
without lowering the bar themselves.

Approx. 11 distinct Aboriginal nations are in Quebec. Have we forgotten how bad they've been treated?! The tribes need to drive the BQ out of THEIR province and out of THEIR country.

I had a crush on my third grade teacher until she married the gym teacher, guy was a loser.

They refuse to leave the reservation. There's nothing there for them except drinking themselves into oblivion. The younger generations seems to understand the only way to make a difference is to get out, get an education, come back to the reserve and make a difference.
They're stubborn. HAVE WE FORGOTTEN Oka: what did they prove other than a bloody nonsense? What did they accomplish?

Are piano teachers included?

Directed to the douchebag at 6:11, yeah I'm talking to YOU!!

Frequently in Canada Aboriginal people’s rights and title to land have been disregarded as the government forces compliance from them. They are dealt with unfairly by the administration that directs this country as several of their claims to land and resources go unnoticed or are retracted when the government chooses. It is treatment like this that harvests frustration in a person, which in turn, leads to fanatical behaviour and violent outbursts similar to the one that transpired in Oka. When various levels of government failed to come to terms with the issue of land claims with the Mohawk they decided to take action. It seemed unlikely that these residents of Oka would be able to achieve any results by using conventional methods of participation, so they decided to take a more radical approach. After negotiations broke down, the government chose to try and intimidate the Mohawks and force them down from their position by bringing in the army and using physical violence on them all. The Mohawk people had settled there BEFORE the arrival of the French but as was the case across most of Canada, the immigrants claimed the land for themselves.

So douchebag you understanding or are the words I'm using too big for your small head?

"They're stubborn. HAVE WE FORGOTTEN Oka: what did they prove other than a bloody nonsense? What did they accomplish?"

For you to ask that seriously shows what a fucked up Canadian you are.....if you are a Canadian. Let me guess you’re a landed immigrant collecting unemployment?

All teachers, yes.

How did we go from 'Thanking Teachers' to this? I suppose this is my fault for bringing up the BQ.

When will it end? When will Natives accept that there are one set of rules for ALL Canadians? This perpetual grievance/blaming whites as they always do will backfire for sure as their constant whining will result in an ultimatum. Natives receive, to my knowledge, $5 billion per year in UNACCOUNTABLE money, not to mention tax-free status, meanwhile the the six month Caledonia dispute cost us taxpayers $55 million.

7:52, Lose the militancy, son.

Say hi to 'A' Hope she's feeling better.

10:11,The federal negotiator working the dispute argued Six Nations surrendered their rights to the land in 1841. THEREFORE THEY HAD NO CLAIM!

It's okay. It was about building condos and a golf course on a parcel of land. The Mohawks claimed it was a sacred burial ground and put up a human barricade to stop construction. Things went from bad to worse when the government became involved and called in the army to remove them. It turned into a violent 78 day standoff that involved tear gas, some grenades and a 15minute bullet exchange. In the end The Mohawks won.

1:10, thank you Michelle.
