The Pint Size Little Dictator

Cocaine Princess here.

On Saturday a tragic event occurred.

Brace yourselves.

Two of my nails broke and I needed to see my manicurist asap!

I opened the garage and to my surprise my driveway wasn't a driveway anymore. It had been transformed into a hockey arena. There was a hockey net at the top and at the foot of the driveway and all these little boys between the ages of 7 and 8 with hockey sticks in their hands were running all over the place. I didn't recognize any of their little faces. From the garage I walked onto the driveway and before I even had a chance to speak the little goalie closest to me said,

'You're in my way lady- moooove!'

I'm in his way? I think it's the other way around.

'Yeah move!' said another. 'You're blocking my shot.'

I'm not sure what position he was playing so I'll just refer to him as player#2. I explained I needed for them to step aside with their equipment so I could back out of the driveway.

'We're in the middle of a game so you're gonna have to wait,' the little goalie replied.

Perched on top of the snowbank were several little girls. I didn't recognize any of them either.
They were dressed in colorful bubble jackets, berets on their heads, ugg boots covering their feet and gloves that said 'I Love Jonas Bros.' Carefully trying 'not to be in the way' I walked over to where they were sitting and asked what they were up to.

'We came to see the game,' answered girl #1.

No sporting event is complete with fans.

'My boyfriend is the goalie,' proudly informed girl #2.

'Your boyfriend? How old are you?' I asked.

'Almost 6,' she replied.

'How long have you two been dating?'

'Since last week.'

'That long huh? Which goalie is your boyfriend?' I inquired.

'The one who told you to move.'

Is there anyway you can please ask him to stop the game for just a few minutes?

I thought maybe if she asked I would have better luck.

She shouted the question at him.

Her boyfriend the goalie shouted back.

'No!'

I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with them. I headed back inside the house for some back up. 'A' was no help.

'For heaven sakes let them play their game darling,' she said.

'Why are they playing in our driveway? What's a matter with theirs?'

'Maybe it isn't shoveled yet.'

'It's not like I'm asking them to stop the game completely, only for a few minutes, until I back out and then they can pick up right where they left off. I have to go. It's an emergency.'

She asked what the emergency was. I showed her my hand with the broken nails.

'Oh my God that is devastating.'

'I know,' I said agreeing with her.

'How are you even standing up? Are you in any pain darling? Do you need to sit down? I wouldn't want you to faint,' she teased.

'Can't you go out and talk to them?'

'Are any of them my students?' she questioned.

'I don't know. Is anyone of your students dating a goalie?' I questioned back.

'This is the first day in weeks they've been allowed to play outside so let them have their fun.'

Well she had me there. Saturday was the first day in weeks a person could venture outside without the fear their ears would crack and fall off. We reached a high of +2! Can you believe it, +2! And the storm that was suppose to have slammed us, missed us. We only received a few cm. of snow, nothing really major. Mother Nature seemed to have finally taken pity.

I decided to wait it out until they finished playing.

A short while later the doorbell rang. My sister answered it. By their voice I recognized who was at the door.

It was the pint size little dictator aka the little goalie.

'Can you tell that other lady we're taking a break. We'll be back after lunch.'

I then heard footsteps approaching me.

'I have a message for you,' said A.

'And I heard it loud and clear......'

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

when i was homeless i let a mad woman pick me up and to cut a sizeable story short I lived with her for the next 2.5 yrs

anyway she had graduated from a "manicure/pedicure" course

before this I didn't even know pedicure meant feet. if you'd asked I'd have said is it cutting dogs' claws?

anyway she used to grab hold of my hands and cut my nails to near down to the quick i was considering suing her for gross injustice~ after her "treatments" I was unable to do 1001 things (no not popping zits but whatever other things nails are for that escape my mind at present) for over a month until those stunted stubs grew even a tenth of the way back

no i am not a girl as you may have guessed by my failure to mention french manicure, polish, acrylics etc

what i do find fascinating about women's nails is the sanding down process before the falsie is applied... that's kinda yukky and intriguing in equal measure..!

righty-ho I've been here long enough: must fly!!

ps you should have just run the kids over come ON!!!

We have the same problem. The kids in my n/hood will set up the hockey net in the middle of the road. (The street isn't that busy) But each time a car passes by they all scramble to move their stuff.

What do you think of the whole Chris Brown incident?

dani

Where I live hockey isn't so much a problem as baseball is. During the warm days baseballs are flying everywhere forcing everyone to take cover.

I'm dying to know-- did you make it to the manicurist?

Peace Out Chickie.

If the allegations are true it's awful and unforgivable what he did.

Anonymous at 10:16,
After moving the equipment they left everywhere, yes.

Princess did you watch The Grammys on Sunday?

There is something about playing hockey in the street as opposed to playing in a rink.

Chris Brown had everything going for him and then he goes and messes it up.

I did. I liked J. Timberlake's performance with T.I. the most and M.I.A's performance was quite memorable.

You are going to need to toughen up if you ever want to have children.

CP- first off, I understand the kids wanting to play, no doubt after being trapped in the house with weather THAT cold, however, manners are the very first thing that come to mind here. If i caught my daughter talking to someone like that in THEIR own driveway, let alone not, she would be in trouble!!!!! Glad they got to play though, and i hope you got your nails fixed. That has to be troublesome.

CP--

I can't believe M.I.A. came to the Grammys and then performed on stage. She's 9 mths preggers and Sunday night was her due date!!!

Don't take this the wrong way Princess- it just isn't human to live someplace so cold.

I thought I was the only one who liked Robi Draco Rosa?! When I tell my friends they say "Huh? Who?" I tell them Robi Rosa is the guy who wrote all of Ricky Martin's hit songs!

When did you first hear the song?
Don't you like the english version
(Crash Push)of Mas Y Mas?

Whoops Princess! I think I posted on the wrong entry. It's meant for "In Honor of The Rodent"

I heard it in 2004. I adore the English version. There's just something about the way Robi sings it in Spanish.

That's ok.

Jay-Z is very protective of her and has already vowed to destroy him. I would say he's done, unless he somehow makes amends and she wants to take him in one last time.

Very sad situation.

South Florida,
Kanye West vowed the same thing. After the beat down she received I think it would be very foolish for her to take him back.

Princess, do you have naturally long nails or acrylic?
If they are natural, whats your secret to keeping that length? Obviously frequent trips to the salon for maintenance, but do you supplement with vitamins or use a special cuticle oil?

Audrey at 8:31,
My nails are natural. I just use regular Jojoba oil. You can buy it in a little bottle at any health or drug store. I massage them around my cuticles and nails. What also works just as well is Vitamin E Moisturizing Nail & Cuticle Oil by Sally Hansen.
