To quote the commentator: Are these guys {Germany} playing soccer or are they chasing their own shadows?! Germany, the team who hammered Argentina 4-0 can’t even score a goal against the Spaniards?!
After the 1st half the score was 0-0.
Soon into the 2nd half Spain scored a goal! The game went into overtime +3:20
The cephalopod mollusk was correct: Ole! Ole! Ole! Spain has made history! They are in the World Cup for the first time ever in history.
Spain beat Germany. Final Score: Germany-0 Spain-1
On Sunday July 11th 2010 the final game will be played:
Team Orange vs. España
Another big game is being played today.
Germany vs. Spain
"Germany are looking to avenge their defeat by Spain in the 2008 Euro final"
"Germany and Spain have suffered only one defeat in the tournament, both to small teams—Switzerland beat Spain and Serbia shocked Germany in the group stages. Germany and Spain have suffered only one defeat in the tournament, both to small teams—Switzerland beat Spain and Serbia shocked Germany in the group stages.
But Germany have been the most impressive, their youngest squad in 76 years scoring four goals on three occasions past Australia, England and Argentina.
Superstitious German fans may be worried that a supposedly psychic octopus which has correctly predicted the result of all their matches so far here, foresees a loss against Spain.
Paul the octopus, which lives in an aquarium in western Germany, makes his prophecy by picking food from containers marked with the flags of the two teams."
Olé, Olé? We'll find out later on in the day whether the eight-tentacled oracle is correct.
****Updated****
The game went into overtime and........
Team Orange have secured a place in the finals.
"Dutch players Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben scored three minutes apart in the second half as the Netherlands beat Uruguay and advance to its first championship match since losing in 1978 to Argentina."
Final score:
The Netherlands vs. Uruguay
3-2
Answer: According to the octopus, Spain. Hmm, we shall find out tomorrow.
Sigh....I can't believe it. No South American country will be taking home the 2010 World Cup.

Cocaine Princess here.
The Uruguayans are facing The Netherlands today in the first match of the semi finals. If you've been watching the World Cup you know the country with windmills, tulips and wooden clogs beat my favorite team.
The Report: "The Netherlands' confidence is running high after beating Brazil and desperately want the cup. The only thing standing in the way of the Netherlands’ first final appearance since 1978 is Uruguay, a small South American nation. Uruguay is a big underdog, with a number of missing players further stacking the odds against them."
The Prediction: The Netherlands-2 Uruguay-0
Will the orange madness continue all the way into the finals? We shall see.
Tomorrow: Germany vs. Spain.
Hmm, so what does the octopus with the psychic powers reveal?
Well, let's just say The Germans aren't too
happy.

Something totally unrelated: We are going through a massive heatwave up here: +42C humidex. Some may think that's too hot but hey, it's much better than snow and ice. Bless you Mother Nature, bless you.

Tevez has just announced that Germany and Holland have ‘no top players’.
I'm guessing he is still sore after his teams' brutal loss.
Uruguay deserves to lose after that dirty handball against Ghana. FIFA should automatically award goals rather than penalties in such circumstances!
Go Brazil! whoops- Team Brazil has been eliminated from the tournament. Hahahaha! The WC belongs to Europe. Germans are no. 1.
Germany versus Spain- whoever wins that game wins the cup.
Uruguay played really good but unfortunately the Dutch won.. But that was one hell of a game. Praying that Germany will crush Spain tonight...
I have been thoroughly impressed with your coverage of the World Cup. Seriously. I come here before hitting ESPN.com these days. I mean it!
Happy Belated 4th of July too. I was in San Diego last week and got back just in time to shoot off some fireworks. Hehe...
CC at 1:29,
Thank you very much.
Happy belated 4th of July. Hope your trip to San Diego was a great one.
The sports announcer wasn't far off. Watching the German team, it was like they wanted to lose-- more proof the World Cup 2010 games are all fixed.
Frankly, I'll be glad when all this ball-kicking is overwith.
