"HAPPY HALLOWEEN. Wishing you all a bewitching day."
"Don't let the Boogie-Man get ya!!

P.S. Drinkie #31 is posted below

****UPDATED: Saturday October 30th. See below for Countdown Day Drinkie #30****

Cocaine Princess here.

I know you're all just holding your breath in anticipation for me to post Harvest Dinner: Part 2 given all the number of comments I received. Truly I’m touched-- a total of 2 and all by the same person. {BTW, thank you} But seeing how Halloween is only 2 days away I decided to post a Halloween entry. No worries, Harvest Dinner Part 2 will be posted next week.

As you know since October 1st I have been posting a different drinkie associated with Halloween. Keeping up with the Halloween theme I came across a "TOP 13 LIST" of the "Best Videos/Songs" to play at a Halloween party and the "Best Halloween Television Specials" and thought I would share that list here.

“It isn't just horror movies that can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up but music videos can also provide you with a good scare. Although Thriller which is  arguably the best music video of all time and a great tune to play at any Halloween bash, there are many others that have been overlooked. Below are 13 music videos that are a must for any Halloween party while others are filled with spook, horror themes, and disturbing images. In a nutshell- videos that give you the heebie jeebies.”

"Top 13 Halloween Songs"

**A few of these videos I've never seen much less heard about and when viewing them they were downright freaky.**

monstermash So Long, Bobby Boris Pickett
Boris Pickett

"Who wouldn't think of a song all about dancing with monsters to play at a Halloween party? After all, it is sung by a mad scientist about his monster he was working on in his lab."

Shakira She-Wolf Artwork
Shakira

"Whether it's Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day or even on a Tuesday morning, what straight guy hasn't had this fantasy-- A hot Latin bombshell dancing in a cage and howling?"

Blue Oyster Cult

"This Halloween song favorite was built around the opening riff by lead guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser. In Halloween (1978) the song plays while Annie and Laurie are smoking cannabis. Zombieland (2009) it plays while Bill Murray, Tallahassee, and Wichita are getting high. The Stand by Stephen King – portion of the lyrics are at the beginning of novel, as well as the beginning of the television mini-series based on it."

Dead Man's Party
Oingo Boingo

"Dead Man's Party from Oingo Boingo was included in two iconic '80s movies -- 'Weird Science' and 'Back to School' -- the latter of which the band made a cameo in. The ghoul factor-- the dancing skeletons in this video that became one of the most recognized symbols of the band."

Rob Zombie Dragula Button B-3190
Rob Zombie

"From the director of 'Halloween' I & II remake Rob Zombie does a song based on the drag racer "DRAG-U-LA" from 'The Munsters.' Ironically, in the video, Rob rides around in the Munster Koach (not the actual Dragula racing car). The video also prominently features the killer robot from the 1939 serial, 'The Phantom Creeps."

Rockwell

"Rockwell suffers bizarre hallucinations with Michael Jackson singing backup in 'Somebody's Watching Me.' Is it a dog or a pig monster? Whose face is that in the mirror? Is the mailman really evil?" The song has a great beat and just enough "creep factor" to become a Halloween staple."

Bauhaus

"Not only does it reference the original 'Count Dracula' actor, this nearly nine-minute song is synonymous with horror movies, Halloween, and Goth culture. Cut to a little over three-minutes for this video, it features scenes from the Tony Scott cult vampire movie 'The Hunger,' which starred the original androgynous blood sucker, David Bowie."

Grimmy

Marilyn Manson Sweet Dreams

Marilyn Manson

"Marilyn Manson is by far one of the most bizarre rockers, ever. In this video he is seen dressed in a dirty wedding dress, a tutu, and hiding in what seems to be a cave. With brief scenes of him riding on a pig and portraying Medusa, it is safe to conclude that Halloween is an everyday holiday for Marilyn."

 Skinny Puppy

"The song uses a sample of the guitars in "Helter Skelter" by The Beatles, as well as a vocal sample of Charles Manson singing the song. The video for this song consists of many graphic scenes from various horror movies."

4. ♫ Y Control♫

  Yeah Yeah Yeahs

"The video for 'Y Control' was directed by Spike Jonze and drew criticism for it's portrayal of a mob of ultra-violent children. Shot in B-Horror movie fashion, there are scenes of child vampires sucking blood from Karen-O, child mutilation and (gulp) images of children carrying the body of a dead dog."
Apex Twins

"Shot on the same grounds as Stanley Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange,' Aphex Twin's 'Come to Daddy' has just about every great scary music video theme. From television demons to a twisted mob of children who all sport grinning Aphex Twin masks, this video is so creepy it’s disturbing."

Bark at the Moon (Exp)
Ozzy Osbourne

"Ozzy is the Wolfman!  Enough Said."

....And the number one spot goes to.....

Alice Cooper

"This disco-sounding track -- fusing rock with Broadway tunes -- is the opening song to his same titled album that tells the nightmares of a fictional child name Steven. Alice Cooper performed the song on the third season of ''The Muppet Show." Click on the link to watch.

**Did your favorite Halloween song make this list? What are some of your favorite songs to play at a Halloween party?**

****

"Top 13 Halloween Specials"

"One of the best things about Halloween is scaring yourself silly while watching a bone chilling horror flick on the tube. During the month of October it's nearly impossible not to catch a movie that is Halloween related. This list takes a slightly different turn- below is a list of thirteen of the best comedy television shows with a Halloween theme."

The Addams Family Farted

"The Addams family are all busy preparing for their favorite holiday, but their celebration is bolstered by a pair of bank robbers…one of whom is played by Don Rickles…who they welcome as trick-or-treaters."

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special.jpg

"If you've heard every argument why the majority of 1970's pop-culture should be sealed in a box and not revealed to any future generations and still aren't convinced then watch this. This'll do it for you. So bad that this disco-inspired Halloween lovin' comedy spectacle is so scary it made our list. **This special featured the television debut of the band KISS in the special: Click here to watch.

 11. "Bugs Bunny In Transylvania 6-5000"

"This is a short Merrie Melodies animated film. When the wise cracking bunny takes a wrong turn he must spend the night at the castle of Count Bloodcount in Transylvania."

Gilligans Island title card.jpg
"Gilligan, having been bitten by a bat, dreams he is Dracula in turn of the century Transylvania. The episode is filled with a motherlode of Freudian imagery."

                        9. Everybody Hates Chris: "Everybody Hates Halloween"

One of the most underrated sitcoms of the ’00s offered up a classic Halloween episode in its first season, where Chris is asked by his mother to accompany his siblings while they trick or treat and Julius buys inexpensive generic brands of candy – you know, like Two Musketeers…which leads to a counterattack from Rochelle."

sg
"There’s an oft-repeated blanket statement that the last few seasons of “M*A*S*H” were too damned serious for their own good, which is a fair cop, but they still managed to slip a classic in once in awhile, and this one definitely qualifies. It's time for the annual 4077th Halloween party. Hawkeye is dressed as Superman, B.J. is a clown, Margaret is a geisha girl, Colonel Potter is a cowboy and Klinger is Al Capone."

Curbyourenthusiasm.png
"One of the world’s great curmudgeons has to deal with a bunch of punk trick-or-treaters who turn up at his door without costumes and demand candy. You know it’s comedy gold."

Photobucket

INSERT DESCRIPTION
"Penny throws a great Halloween party, and she makes a pretty kitty, too, but it’s hard to top the meeting of the four Flashes."

DrewCareyTVFaves.jpg
"Drew goes all "Weekend at Bernie's" on Mr. Newsome when he drops dead before he can announce Drew as the new store manager. Meanwhile, Lewis looks like Frankenstein's monster after a visit to a deranged dentist in the best " Drew Carey Show" Halloween episode."

"Treehouse of Horror V" is arguably the best of The Simpsons' annual "Treehouse" episodes, consisting of Shining parody "The Shinning," cannibalistic teachers in "Nightmare Cafeteria," and the brilliantly conceived segment, "Time and Punishment." In "Time and Punishment," a parody of the Ray Bradbury short story "A Sound of Thunder.”
3. Roseanne: "BOO"
"The Connors love Halloween; deeply and, perhaps, somewhat insanely. They commit to it, from the costumes to their home-made haunted house to Dan scaring Roseanne with a chainsaw and a hockey mask - while back-lit with a flood lamp. The show ran for nine seasons giving us nine Halloween specials but Season 2's Halloween is the best one out of the bunch."

2.Two and A Half Men: "Hi, Mr. Horned One"
Two and a Half Men-title.png
"Charlie’s Satan-worshiping girlfriend has a knack for the supernatural and seems to be the cause of some strange happenings around the Harper house."

....And the number one Halloween Special is.....

"What else did you think number one would be?"

**Did any of your favorites makes the list? What are some of your favorite Halloween specials? I myself was disappointed that "Garfield's Halloween Adventure" didn't make the list!**

**Note for all you Zombie fans: AMC is premiering a new series airing on October 31st: "The Walking Dead."

My lovelies, take a lesson from the above cartoon. This Halloween please DO give out chocolates and DO NOT give out raisins, dental floss and certainly not fruit. Seriously, what kid wants that? Otherwise you’re just asking to get your house egged and/or toilet papered.

HALLOWEEN 2010

My lovelies, today is October 31st. I present to you Day #31 Halloween themed drinkie:

BLOOD DRIP

halloween cocktail glass garnish
"A drink for those who like to to sip your martini “vampire style” this Halloween! The “blood rim” is made from the same kind of mixture as you’d use to make hard candy. It’s actually pretty easy, but you will need a candy thermometer (which you can find at most grocery stores)"

INGREDIENTS:
*1 c. Sugar
*1/2 c. Karo Syrup
*1/2 c. Water
*Red Food Coloring

Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook without stirring to hard crack stage – which is 300 degrees F. Add food coloring.

Turn off heat. While the mixture is still hot, dunk the top of the cocktail glass into the mixture to create the red rim. If you need to do several glasses, keep the mixture hot so it lasts longer (instead of turning heat off, just reduce slightly). You can go anywhere from just along the very tip of the rim to part way down the glass – whichever you prefer. Flip the glass right side up to cool. The thick consistency of the mixture will cause “drips” as it hardens on the glass!

My loyal and dear readers, it’s finally Friday. Today marks the 5th and last Friday of the month and more importantly The Witching Hour is near.

Whatever your plans are have a spook-tacular weekend, eat some chocolates and Boo! ~x

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

What? No "Time Warp"? Hmmmmph, CP you disappoint me...lolol! I can imagine you in your basque and fishnets dancing to the Rocky Horror Picture show music. After all, it is "just a jump to the left and a step to the right" ;)

Best wishes ~ G

Black Cat, i think i can make that.. Speaking of scary songs Bark At The Moon and Welcome To My Nightmare, sure does make it to the list. Even Sweet Dreams is an awesome video. Marilyn Manson's videos are always dark, scary and gross.. LOL..

Though Halloween is already gone, maybe next year you might want to check out some black metal bands video's especially videos of bands from Norway, they are so wicked. Wish i could have mentioned this before Halloween.. Hope u had a blast...

Happy Halloween, CP - a few days late.

I know you love "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." And so do I. My daughter and I watched it several times leading up to Sunday. It's always a crowd pleaser.

Being a Sirius subscriber, I was impressed to see that they made channel 113 temporarily all Halloween - so many of the songs you mentioned were played on there, as well as other horror classics, noises and scary stuff.

I haven't yet seen Paranormal Activity 2. Have you? That's last on my Halloween list this year!

The Constant Complainer said...

P.S. You're right; that particular "Rosanne" Halloween special is the best!

Yes I did see Paranormal Activity and I'm sorry to say much like Part 1, I didn't like Part 2.
