Rum And Donuts.....And One Tiny Request

****UPDATE: Monday June 6th- See Below****

Cocaine Princess here.

For the 2nd straight week in a row I’ve been extremely busy with hardly any time to myself. What can I say other than the life of a Colombian Princess is a busy one. I was so busy that I almost never had a chance to post my regular Friday entry BUT because I know my loyal and dear readers wait in anticipation to read them, here I am blogging after midnight. No worries, it’s really no bother. Most of my lovelies are well aware I’m a night owl.

On Wednesday I posted an entry in honor of June 1st and in loving memory of Marilyn Monroe’s 85th birthday. Along with the entry I posted a drinkie named after her and that got me thinking, hmm, why not do a “Countdown To Summer” by posting drinkies with a movie related~theme? Had this brilliant thought come to me 1 day earlier Countdown Drinkie #2 would have been posted yesterday. Don't panic, I have included Day #2 in today’s post. As you read the next paragraph just pretend it's still Thursday.

Today is June 2nd. 19 days remain until the 1st day of summer. My lovelies, I present to you Countdown To Summer Drinkie #2:

"The Twisted Swan
The Twisted Swan Cocktail - Dobel Tequila
"The Twisted Swan cocktail was created for the 2011 Oscars and was inspired by the nominated film Black Swan. For the black raspberry liqueur Chambord is a natural choice, but there are others available and liqueurs like creme de framboise or cassis will also work well."

*1 oz DOBEL Tequila
*1/2 oz Amaretto Liqueur

PREPARATION:
1.Shake DOBEL Tequila & amaretto with ice.

****UPDATE: Monday June 6th

Today is June 6th. 15 days remain until the 1st day of summer. My lovelies, I present to you Countdown To Summer Drinkie #6:

"Sweet Ben's Pink Lemonade"
Sweet Ben's Pink Lemonade - X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
This pink lemonade recipe is a simple mixed drink, but that doesn't make it any less of a good drink. It is the X-Rated Fusion Liqueur that makes it stand out and adds dimension and the inspiration for the drink is interesting. X-Rated Fusion ran a poll looking for the "Hottest Cougar of all Time," the small and big screen mothers who made the biggest impact. The winner was Anne Bancroft's role as Mrs. Robinson in the 1967 classic The Graduate, and Sweet Ben's Pink Lemonade was born.

INGREDIENTS:
* 2 oz lemonade
*1 oz X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
*1 oz SKYY Vodka
*Lemon wedge for garnish

PREPARATION:
1.Build the ingredients in a highball glass over ice cubes.
2.Stir.
3.Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Tomorrow Drinkie #7.

I bet you’re now wondering how the donut part fits into this post after all when one thinks of Rum, donuts aren’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind. You know what comes to mind when I think of Rum? Click here to find out.

Today is “National Donut Day.”   National Donut Day is on the first Friday of June each year, succeeding the Donut Day event created by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. The holiday celebrates the doughnut (a.k.a "donut") — an edible, torus-shaped piece of dough which is deep-fried and sweetened.

Unfortunately up here in The Great White North we don’t observe this sugar~sweet day which I find quite odd since Canada not only has more donut stores per head of population than any other country in the world but Canadians consume the most donuts! There's a Tim Horton's in my neighborhood that I pass by every morning during my run and believe me the temptation to stop inside and sink my teeth into a piping, hot fresh donut is next to impossible, but with self discipline I am able to resist the sweet temptation....and on that note I have one tiny request for anyone of my lovelies living in the land of stars and stripes: Please head on over to your nearest Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts and eat a donut on my behalf. Savor and appreciate the taste. By the way, my preference is chocolate. Thank you and Peace Out.

****

My loyal and dear readers, T.G.I.F!!

Whatever your plans are have a sparkling first weekend of June. ~x

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

all that prep work just to get a buzz seems like a waste of drinking time. but they do appeal to the epicurean palette.
