Last night a monumental event took place, "Fashions Night Out." What is Fashions Night Out, you ask? You've all heard of a pub crawl, right? Well, Fashions Night Out is a shopping crawl!
Brief History: "Fashion's Night Out started in 2009 in New York as a celebrity-studded way to lure shoppers into stores during the recession, but it's turned into a global shopping party. Retailers around the world — from upscale boutiques to suburban malls to online retailers — are embracing the event, which coincides with the start of the fall fashion season. The genius behind this worldwide shopping event is Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. "
Yesterday could not come soon enough for me. I honestly felt like a little girl waiting for Christmas. You know that "excitement is building feeling" and you're holding your breath in anticipation.... Two weeks ago my friends and I planned ahead what malls and stores we would be shopping in. Unfortunately not every retailer was participating in the event but thankfully most of our favorite stores were. After getting myself all dolled up-- as one needs to be for these events-- we left to take part in what can be best described as a fashionistas' dream come true. Or to quote my sister, "A shopaholics dream come true." The hours of shopping were from 6pm~11pm. Many of the stores provided complimentary champagne and truffles. Nothing like getting customers tipsy, right? I didn't have a drinkie but I did help myself to one of the delicious truffles as my sweet tooth insisted that I do.
I didn't return home til after midnight nor did I come home empty handed. All the boutiques and stores had their latest fall looks. I bought several pieces of knit skirts and ponchos for those up~coming chilly days but my favorite piece:
I bow down to the Fashion Gods because this seasons most popular look {straight from the runways in Paris} is body hugging clothing and animal prints-- leopard in particular.
Say hello to my newest addition: Hervé Léger for Max Azria.
A black mini dress with a leopard print sweetheart neck.
Nobody does body hugging dresses better than Hervé Léger after all he did create the bandage look. Can't wait to wear it!

My loyal and dear readers, it's finally Friday. Put on your dancing shoes and do your happy dance.
Whatever your plans are have a superb weekend. ~x

Bonjour Princess,
That that dark grey body with grey-white plastic leopard is exactly what you find in France.
I just hope it will not give you a negative world view whenever you wear that dark undertaker stuff.
Stick to the colorful garments, Princess because color is life.
Here is a link to a local clothes company where my wife buys frequenjtly. All grey, mostly.

Bonjour Georg,
Yes, colorful things do make the world brighter!!
P.S. Thanks for the link.
A thousand pardons for my tardiness of late, but life has a way of getting in the way of reading blogs.
That said, it is downright unfair to post a picture of that little dress, without you in it.
Now I am going to be all grumpy.
