Cocaine Princess here.
First it was the Queen's Diamond Jubilee then came the London 2012 Olympic Games and now once more London is back in the news. Not only for the second straight year in a row was London named the Fashion Capital Of The World beating out Paris and New York but today is the start of London Fashion Week aka one of the most exciting times in the fashion world and a day I look forward to. September in general is an awesome time for fashion. London Fashion Week is an apparel trade show held in London, England twice each year, in February and September. It is one of the "Big Four" fashion weeks, along with New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
This past week it was New York Fashion Week and I had a brilliant time watching the shows since I have a passion for fashion. Here are the 9 trends for Spring~Summer 2013 that came from New York:
1. Orange/Tangerine Tango
Bright, bold and brilliant orange was the color of choice in NYC as shown by designers Victoria Beckham & Carolina Herrera.
2.Centre Partings
I'm not to crazy about the centre parting for myself but at the Jill Stuart and Alexander Wang runway show the ultimate hair-do for the models were centre partings.
3. Muted Florals
Muted florals found their way down the New York runways; designers kept their patterns sweet and subtle as shown by Tracy Reese and Peter Som.
4.White Shirts
Crisp white shirts littered the spring/summer catwalks as shown by Alexander Wang and Lacoste.
5.Stripes
Stripes went both ways, and in all colors, shown by designers Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors.
6. Midriffs
If you're not in shape I suggest you start working out ASAP because look for bare midriffs in spring/summer as shown by designers Charlotte Ronson and Jason Wu.
7. Relaxed Silhouettes
Relaxed silhouettes will be the fashion pack's favorite shape next year, as slouchy chic is in for Spring, as shown by Donna Karan, Theyskens' Theory and Diesel.
8. Flat Shoes
Beautiful flats seem to be the trend as shown by Ruffian and Marc Jacobs.
9. Baseball Caps
From Alexander Wang's super-shiny visor-style to DKNY's crisp cotton versions, the baseball cap is the ultimate nonchalant accessory. Chose your fabric and scream 'ghetto fabulous' or 'slightly sporty'.
I'm not liking trend #9. I only wear caps or visors only during my morning run.
In other fashion news, Katie Holmes made an impression with her debut fashion label Holmes & Yang as did ex Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, who brought back the 60s look with her line and said this of her customer: "If I can't be her, I want to hang out with her."
There maybe a few of you or more who may think fashion is boring but how's this for excitement-- can you believe a fight broke out at the Zac Posen Show all because of the seating situation?
"Jalouse editor Jennifer Eymere slapped Lynn Tesoro, co-founder of PR company HL Group after she, her mother - French publishing executive José Susskind-Jalou and her sister found themselves without seats at Zac Posen's spring/summer 2013 show. Fire Marshals had decided to remove 60 seats from the venue 30 minutes prior to the show, causing havoc with the seating plan which Tesoro was trying to resolve. Tesoro allegedly spoke to Eymere's mother in a rude tone, for which Eymere slapped her. When contacted, Jennifer Eymere took full responsibility for the incident, saying: "I said, 'Don't speak to my mom like this. Be careful, I am going to slap you,' and she kept doing it, and it just happened. I am sorry, I know it's bad to do that," she added." She humiliated my mom, and I humiliated her in front of her crew. Voilà. I just said at the end, 'Now you know you don't f--k with French people."
And now the publicist who was slapped by the French magazine editor is suing the offender for $1 million." This incident has become known as "The Slap Heard Across NY Fashion Week." In all fairness she did warn her she was going to slap her, right?
Many of the designers will be streaming their shows live. I'm so excited to see the latest trends and designs from London.

Four and eight r the only fashion advice I will get away with.
Got a manicure and haircut today. While waiting flipped thru Lucky magazine. I rather like some of the ideas.
Was suppose to meet old high school friend Sunday. Well, when a man suggests meeting I expect him to follow thru with phone call. Did he do that? No. I told my stepmom that makes me lose interest right off the bat. Men who can't back up their words with action. Whatever!!! And to think I had someone lined up to go buy me a new outfit that would be colorful. My friend has style. I am happy I asked her to wait a few days. Although, it does not hurt to have an extra cute outfit. Funny thing is I am not upset. I do not want to go out with him anymore though. He seemed to be interested in me based on my Facebook stuff. He commented he read it all and wanted us to meet. I was up for meeting new man from high school days. Oh well--
I have not had time to blog. Too much going on.
Nite nite from Memphis
