Dulce de Tequila

Cocaine Princess here.

To say I'm glad April is over and done with is an understatement. It wasn't a good month and in case you've forgotten why you can read about it here, here and here. Some months are like minutes and fly by while others such as the case with April, those 30 days on the calendar seemed like a frigging lifetime. It was a welcome relief when the 1st of May arrived.

I've had a busy week so do excuse this short but amazing entry of mine but before I continue any further I know some of you have been sick with worry in regards to my last post. It was nerve wracking waiting for the results of my blood test but I was brave and remained strong. Earlier in the week I met with the doctor and insert drum-roll........

.....you'll be happy to know I'm fine. I'm healthy and all is well. Knock wood. One of the things Doc Boy was concerned about (among other things) was a blood clot was responsible for the bruises. Thankfully every test turned out to be negative. As for the reason for the bruising, he really didn't have an answer other than, "sometimes the slightest little bump can cause a dark, large bruise.

This coming Sunday is Cinco de Mayo. A day to commemorate the Mexican victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862 but really it's just an excuse to have a drinkie and eat nachos, right?

I suppose it would have better had the day fallen on Friday so you could drink 'til Saturday and then spend all of Sunday nursing your hangover. Unfortunately that won't be the case.

In honor of May 5th I present:
 Dulce de Tequila

A super sweet drink, Dulce de Tequila literally means 'tequila candy' and makes a luscious dessert cocktail. Featuring Tequila Tezón Reposado and Martell Cognac, this drink is enhanced with the orange-flavored Cointreau and sweet agave nectar.

INGREDIENTS
2 oz Tequila Tezón Reposado
1 oz Martell Cognac
1 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz lime juice
1 tbsp Agave Nectar
Large-grained sugar for rimming
Lemon wedge for garnish

PREPARATION
1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with sugar.
4. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

My loyal and dear readers, it's finally Friday.

Whatever your plans are have a tremendous 1st weekend of May. Salud! ~x

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

Great to hear you're OK, Miss Princess, and what a lovely sight you are amid all the blooming bushes. The cocktail sounds a little too alcoholic for me, but I'll take any spare limes you have to make my own honey-and-lime-juice concoction.

Cinco de Mayo?!?!?!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just KNEW something positive had to happen this week!!! The only thing is that I can't reach any of the destinations that I have planned for my road trip by Sunday... :o(

I'
m pleased to hear that there are no serious issues re: your bruise... all in all, I still prefer the rough sex story as the best reason...

That's the one I would use, anyway... ;oD

Mojitos would also be good... Hmm... I need to rethink some things...

Have a great weekend, sweetie!!!!

Miss Stormy Marples at 9:14,
A 3-day eating and music fest- glad you have the weekend off to indulge. Enjoy it.

Red Shoes at 9:18,
When I was googling "Cinco de Mayo" drinks a a lot were either margaritas or mojitos until I came across Dulce de Tequila and thought it could make for a good May 5th drinkie.

Thank you, have a great weekend and have fun on your road-trip.
