11-12-13
Cocaine Princess here.
I didn't know this but today, 11-12-13 is Human Race Day. No, this is not a race, there is no running involved. Human Race Day is about Global Acts of Kindness.
Imagine ONE day around the globe where we focus on what we have in common. It doesn't matter what our politics are, our religion, where we come from, what our positions and stances are on a variety of issues.
Do something kind for someone today, you never know it may change someone's life.
XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

I found it interesting while reading the international news that the 11th is also a holiday in China. Not for military remembrance, but for being 'single', and therefore it is encouraged to go out and shop or buy things. It appears that we are inching closer to 'Global' holidays that may have lofty reasoning, in the end just end up being excuses to buy stuff and get drunk......

YES!!! I am amazed that just by smiling and greeting students on my way to class, that they will smile and talk to others.

The great thing about 11-12-13 is that you can celebrate it again on 11th December, so that's two opportunities for kindness!
Gorilla Bananas at 5:29,
Hey, you're right!
Just the smallest show of human kindness (a smile, a kind word, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on) can have a significant impact on one person and it trickles down from there. I've experienced this many times. When someone has just smiled at me when I was having a bad day.
It is also the biggest day for weddings this year. Apparently there is a lot of brides worried their grooms will not remember their anniversary any other way.
