TGIF! What a week this has been. The holiday season is upon us so I've been busy, busy working. I promise to be back next Friday with my usual brilliant post, okay?
In the meantime, back in May I posted an entry about the city's mayor. Two reporters from Canada's largest newspaper were contacted to view a cellphone video taken by a drug dealer that appears to show Toronto's mayor Rob Ford smoking a crack pipe along with a picture of the mayor sandwiched between the two dealers.
Last Thursday (Halloween) Toronto Police in a press conference stated they recovered the infamous video showing Mayor Ford smoking crack. The press immediately descended upon City Hall waiting for a statement from the mayor. Hmm, I wonder if the mayor's staff handed out candy to any of the reporters? After months of denying he (Rob Ford) never smoked crack in his life, the grossly overweight mayor confessed by stating he doesn’t currently smoke crack and he’s not an addict, but has experimented with the drug. His exact words, “Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately about a year ago."
The mayor along with the city of Toronto have now become the laughing stock as Rob Ford's Crack Confession has made headlines around the world and the subject of late night jokes on Jay Leno, John Stewart and of course Stephen Colbert.
Here's something I just don't understand:
Despite the mayor lying about never ever having smoked crack in his life and then confessing he did, the latest polls indicate his approval rate went up by 5 points.

My loyal and dear readers, it's finally Friday.
Whatever your plans are have a wonderful weekend. ~x

Hah, I'm glad his approval rating went up! It shows a lot of people in Toronto appreciate good comedy. Have a relaxing weekend, Miss Princess, and don't miss out on your beauty sleep!
Gorilla Bananas at 9:37,
Thank you.
Your Mayor is out of control, but if smoking crack and being a bad drunk are the worst things they can get him on (if he isn't stealing like our Mayor did), and he is doing a good job for the city I'd still vote for him.
He does need to get rid of that attitude at straight out his personal life. He can't be hanging out with drug dealers or allowing a substance abuse issue continue.
I think if he had come clean in the beginning he would have the city behind him right now.
I did not read a lot about whether he has been good or bad for the city otherwise though. I was just in Toronto, I wish our city was as busy!
Bathwater at 12:56,
I totally agree- he should have just come clean.
OK, first off, before you fall out of your chair due to seeing a comment from me on here, let me say; Hello! I'm back! And I apologize for being pseudo-MIA.
It's good to get back on here and catch-up with what you're up to.
As much as I thought that moron mayor would get the boot for his indiscretions, I'm somehow not surprised by his rise in popularity.
The Constant Complainer at 8:12,
Hey, welcome back!!
PS. The word Moron and Rob Ford go quite well together.
Good morning, Sunshine...
As for elected officials and their behavior... and then continued 'approval rating,' I fear that reflects the direction of Society and Humanity...
I would think/argue that someone that is screwed up on those kinds of drugs and habits would have a difficult time effectively governing...
Have a wonderful weekend!!
