"Sorry Team Sweden...."

Cocaine Princess here.

The final Men's Hockey Game for the Olympic Gold Medal took place today. It was Team Canada versus Team Sweden.

The game took place at The Bolshoy Ice Dome in Russia (7am Toronto time). City council allowed bars to serve alcohol in the morning just so fans could watch the game on big-screen TVs while chugging back a cold one and doing shots. Line ups began as early as 5am. Because of the time difference on the West Coast many bars remained open all night and didn't even have a chance to close. Click here for coverage of fans across Canada drinking and watching the game in the wee hours of the morning.

So, who won? Team Canada of course!

Final Score: 3-0. Jonathan Toews scored the first goal. Sidney Crosby aka Sid The Kid scored the second goal and the third goal was from Chris Kunitz.

Was there really any doubt we wouldn't win? In total we've won 20 Olympic Medals in hockey, (13 Gold) more than any other country.

Sorry Team Sweden but....

"Hockey is our sport. Our nation. Our gold."

Congratulations Team Canada on your second consecutive Gold Medal Win.

(PS: Although I'm a loyal Canadian and love this country of mine, I hate our long and tough winters.)

Gold Medals & Cold Turkey

Cocaine Princess here.

As most of you are aware I have trouble sleeping. I don't sleep for more than 3-4 hours a night and for the life of me I don't know why that is. I've given up on my pleas to the Sandman for a peaceful night's rest. Usually I'll either just lay in bed listening to music or I'll watch some TV in hopes that I fall asleep. The only problem on getting by with a few hours of sleep a night is having to push your way through the day in order to function because you're so tired. Some days are okay while others are just too much that it's a struggle to keep my eyes open, so for the past couple of months I've been relying on a little something to keep me alert.

This stuff right here:

What?! Did you think I was going to say something else?

Although I was aware of the dangers surrounding "energy drinks" I was drinking at least 2 a day and oh yeah, there was that one day back in January when I had 3. I must admit they really got me through some tough days but when sister saw me chugging one back with a granola bar in one hand she warned me that I might have an addiction problem. And you know what, she was right. I found myself grabbing a drink even when I didn't need that little boost.

I haven't had a drop of the stuff since Tuesday and since then I've had the worst pounding headache on the planet. Hmm, perhaps it was a bad idea to quit cold turkey?

Unless you've been living under a rock, the Winter Olympics have begun. The Canadian womens' hockey team defeated Team USA capturing the Gold Medal. It was one hell of a game too. Team USA was leading 2-0, with 6 minutes left in the last period Team Canada scored 2 goals tying the game. We scored another goal in overtime proving once again Hockey Belongs to Canada

Yesterday it was women's hockey, today the men's team play: Team Canada VS. Team USA.  GO-CANADA-GO.

Fate, Destiny, Love....

One restless night not too long ago I watched a great film I hadn't seen in ages, "Only You" with Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and Bonnie Hunt. If you haven't watched this one I recommend you do.

To my all my Lovelies who'll be celebrating this day with their beloved, may it be filled with endless kisses, champagne, strawberries and well you know......

To all my Lovelies without a Valentine, no Cupid hasn't forgotten about you.
When the time is right he'll strike that arrow of his, after-all....

So in the meantime,

PS: Speaking of that chubby cherub, Cupid is a lot like Love,

It knows no reason and no boundaries....

I admit I had a little trouble this year deciding what song to post. Each time a song came to mind I remembered it had already been posted on my previous February 14th entries. After a couple of days this one came to mind.

Wishing You All A Loving & Happy Valentine's Day/Weekend.

Even The Snow~Man Has The Blues

Cocaine Princess here.

I hate winter. More than words can say, I....hate....winter.

When Mother Nature failed at her attempt to freeze us, her next attempt was trying to bury us in the snow, and what I mean by that is we had two major storms this past week. Yes two! Can you believe the damn nerve of her! The first took place on Sunday and the second storm Mother Nature unleashed on us occurred Wednesday which made it into the record books. 14 cm of snow fell eclipsing the old record of 11.6 cm (Feb. 5, 2011).

I'm so over winter and it isn't just me who shares this sentiment. Every where I go I hear people cursing at the weather. It's gotten to the point now where it's become mentally exhausting. Enough is Enough. You step outside and all you see is snow, tons and tons of it. It's never~ending. My neighbors kids built a snowman in their front yard. When I took a look at it the other day even the snowman had a look on his face that expressed he was feeling the blues. Oh my God, when will this madness end?  Speaking of snowman, how awesome is this--> Back in January two Minnesota brothers built a 16 foot high snow shark in their front yard. Click here.

The only thing that's making my winter blues go away are two lovely words that have brought an enormous smile to my face, FASHION WEEK. Ahh, Fashion Week kicked off yesterday in the Fashion Capital of the World. To my surprise London no longer holds that title.  Although I'm craving for summer I can't wait to see what all the designers have in store for Fall/Winter 2014~15.

That's all for this week, my apologies for the short post. This damn Canadian weather is draining me.
