The Summer of Anaconda

Cocaine Princess here.

How's everyone's summer so far?  I've been having a blast with my friends. We've been taking advantage of our warm weather as much as we can because we all know up here in the Great White North summers don't last very long for us.  Soon the sun will be setting by 4:45 in the afternoon & temperatures will be bone chilling.

I can't believe how quickly summer is passing by. Fall is definitely around the corner----

-The days are getting shorter.
-Endless back to school sales flyers in the mailbox .
-For the past 2 weeks people have been asking me about my Labor Day plans

****
Now I'm going to change the subject and go from writing about the weather to writing about music--

Has anyone seen Nicki Minaj's new video, Anaconda?

There was an interesting discussion the other day regarding the video. Some are saying, the video is empowering to women while others are saying, had it been a male singer the video would be labeled degrading to women.

What do you think?

Me? I'm just wondering what Sir Mix-A Lot thinks?

****

My loyal and dear readers, it's finally Friday.

Whatever your plans are have an awesome weekend.~x

XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

The days may be shortening, Miss Princess, but they're still longer than the nights if you're in northern hemisphere.

Nicki Minaj. That name is quite familiar. Isn't she a potty mouth?

Gorilla Bananas at 6:40,
Yes, at times she can be.

Sigh, I find feminism to be such a minefield. Women would already have equal power if we could all just agree on what that meant.

Personally, I don't see how that video could be empowering. I think it's worse than the Blurred Lines video (the one with their clothes on).
