The Dentist, Mia Farrow & Ted Nugent

Cocaine Princess here.

Shortly you will find out how I ended up braless & eating vending food machine. In the meantime, I have a question--

Have you heard about the Cecil The Lion?

He's an African Lion that lived in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Apparently he was a famous lion and was identifiable by his black-fringed mane and tracking collar. Cecil, had been studied by scientists from the Wildlife Conversation Research Unit at Oxford University as part of a scientific project and his movements had been followed since 2008.

Up until a few days ago I had never heard about Cecil. The only famous Lions I'm familiar with are named Simba and Aslan.

Anyways, Cecil is now dead. Walter James Palmer, an American game hunter and dentist reportedly paid US$50,000 to a professional hunter, Theo Bronkhorst, to enable him to kill a lion. Cecil was allegedly lured out of the sanctuary where he was shot and wounded with an arrow. He was allegedly tracked approximately 40 hours later, and then finally shot dead with a rifle.

Cecil's death has caused a world wide outrage including death threats to the Minnesota dentist, protests led by the Animal Right Coalition and even late night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel began to get teary eyed who expressed his disgust at the dentist during his monologue on Tuesday. Kimmel isn't the only celebrity speaking out-- Ricky Gervais, Christie Brinkley and several Victoria Secret's Angels have rallied in memory of Cecil The Lion including actress Mia Farrow who posted an ill-advised message on twitter containing the business address of the dentist.

The ex- Mrs. Sinatra is now facing harsh backlash and accused of crossing the line for doing so. "Are you trying to send a mob?!"

Getting back to the deceased, two men, a professional hunter and a farm owner, face poaching charges in Zimbabwe in connection to Cecil's death. Killing the lion was illegal, because the farm owner didn't have a hunting permit, according to a joint statement from the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority and the Safari Operators Association. If convicted they face up to 15 years in prison.

On Tuesday afternoon, Palmer issued a statement saying he regretted that his hunt led to Cecil's death, but that to the best of his knowledge everything about his trip was legal and even apologized.

".......In early July, I was in Zimbabwe on a bow hunting trip for a big game.

'I hired several professional guides and they secured all proper permits.

'To my knowledge, everything about this trip was legal and properly handled and conducted.

'I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt.

'I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt. 'I have not been contacted by authorities in Zimbabwe or in the U.S. about this situation, but will assist them in any inquiries they may have.

'Again, I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion.'

55-year-old Palmer has since been the subject of social media persecution. The Facebook page, Twitter and website for his River Bluff dental practice have all been taken down after being swarmed with threats and insults. River Bluff’s website included comments from users suggesting an attack on his office. Angry people sent a surge of traffic to Dr. Palmer’s website, which was taken offline. Vitriolic reviews flooded his Yelp page. A Facebook page titled “Shame Lion Killer Dr. Walter Palmer and River Bluff Dental” drew thousands of users. Dr. Palmer’s face was scrubbed from industry websites.

Hmm, Internet Vigilantism?

Change.org has even started a petition urging President Obama to persecute the dentist and are even calling him a murderer and a terrorist. Others want his dental license revoked.

Murderer? Terrorist? Oh please, give me a frigging break!

I'm not going to lie, I feel bad for the dentist and you know who else does? Ted Nugent, that's who.

The rocker was asked about the controversy by a fan on his Facebook page, who said: 'What is [sic] your thoughts on Cecil the Lion and Walter Palmer Ted?'

In reply, Nugent said:

'the whole story is a lie' - seemingly a reference to how the facts have been presented in the media.

He continued: 'It was a wild lion from a "park" where hunting is legal & ESSENTIAL beyond the park borders. All animals reproduce every year & would run out of room/food to live w/o [without] hunting.'

'I will write a full piece on this joke asap. God are people stupid.'

Boy, Teddy sure does have a way with words!

Dr. Palmer is now on the lam after social media users have issued threats against his life.

Hmm, I guess this would be a bad time to mention I recently purchased a passport cover made from crocodile skin?
****

My loyal and dear readers it's finally Friday.
Whatever your plans are have a sweet 1st weekend of August.~x

Well crocodiles are farmed commercially, Miss Princess, so the product you bought probably isn't from a poached animal.

The lion, on the other hand, was lured out of a national park and killed for sport. I don't approve of killing anything for sport. Not even a big brute of a cat with halitosis.

Good morning, sunshine... I will have to get back for the 'bra-less' story...

Re: the Lion... I also feel like the refuge let Cecil down... and then there are stories about how the people there have no idea who Cecil was... or why such a big deal is being made of it.

No one seems to worry a great deal about the number of abortions in any given year... no one seems to worry a great deal about the number of children in that part of the world that die from starvation... or disease every year.

The media has a way of getting what they want out of certain kinds of stories...

I hope all is well with you.

I am not allowed to talk about anything political, but I heard "Want Tango" a minute ago, and Ted was a truly awful singer.
