Goodbye 2015: Highlights & Favorites

Cocaine Princess here.

I can't believe tomorrow is not only a brand spanking new day but a brand New Year. I welcome the year 2016 with open arms.

2015 was a fantastic one. I post quite a bit of my life on Instagram but here's a look back at some of the Highlights.

FEBRUARY

SuperBowl Weekend was an indeed quite memorable and not so much because of the game. I spent the weekend with, let's just call him a friend. Anyways, I discovered a love for vodka-- perhaps a little too much because when I had awoken I found my pretty lace bra by the Vodka bottle.

APRIL

The month where chocolate eggs are hunted had me so ticked off  because my account was flagged. Why? Some idiot felt the picture I posted below was "offensive" and complained.

 JULY

Summer 2015 was a very busy one. Over the 4th of July weekend I attended--

Mr. Wayne Warner's All White Party:

The next morning I attended The 50th Annual Queen's Plate:

And the morning after that I boarded a flight to Chicago. If memory serves me correctly I hardly slept a wink that weekend. This was my first time to Chi-town. Work had taken me there for approximately nine days.

I had two days off & during those days I crammed a week's worth of sight-seeing which included attending the "Taste of Chicago"- I wasn't going to at first, in-fact some of my Chicago colleagues had warned me not to go on account of it being too crowded and therefore I wouldn't enjoy it. I decided to ignore their warnings and thought, "how many times am I going to be in Chicago during this time of year." I didn't want to return home regretting not going.

The word crowded does not even begin to cover it. It was a pure sea of humanity! I barely had room to move my arms and to make matters worse the smoke coming from the 200+ food trucks were burning my eyes. I bought a strip of tokens-- 8 for $12.00. Every food truck I wanted to go to had a lineup with at least 100ppl. I just gave up and headed to the bar where I bought a Pinot Noir for 9 tokens.

The only thing I tasted at the Taste of Chicago was in liquid form but I knew I couldn't leave this amazing city without tasting an authentic Chicago Style Pizza.
Everyone I spoke to, including strangers at the salon when I was getting my hair done insisted I needed to go to Giordano's. According to the masses, Giordano's simply has the best deep dish style pizza anywhere! I waited 20mins to get a table and then was told it takes anywhere between 40-45mins to bake.

It was Oh-my-God-this-is-heaven-in-my-mouth-good. Although I had an amazing time and experience in Chicago, I will say it's never any fun traveling alone especially when you're dining.

The 7th month on the calendar also brought about a special astrological event. Venus and Jupiter aligned for the 1st time in 2000 years.

SEPTEMBER
I was shocked and saddened to learn about the death of my favorite NYT bestselling author, Jackie Collins who passed away from breast cancer. Below is a picture of her books from my library.

Designer Ralph Lauren who built his fashion empire based on "Country Club Prep" stepped down as CEO after 48 years.

OCTOBER
In the month of October I saw Madonna preform in concert.

On Halloween Night I attended The Vampire's Ball, dressed of course as a Cheeky Lil' Devil!

NOVEMBER

The month of November took me to Puerto Vallarta! It was 7 days of pure heaven. Relaxation  at it's best.

It's really hard to narrow down the best part of my trip but visiting the film set of "Night Of The Iguana"  is high on the list. The film set was was closed off to the public but lucky me was able to get inside.

FAVORITES: Songs & Pictures

2015 gave me 4 favorite songs in 3 different categories. Why are these my favorite? Hmm, sometimes you just can't explain why you like something other than you just do.

Favorite Song:

Song For Someone: U2

Favorite EDM Song:

It's a tie between----

Firestone~ Kygo ft. Conrad Sewell

And---

Generate~ Eric Prydz

Favorite Euro Track:

Dangerous~ David Guetta ft. Sam Martin.

I giggle because there's a real good reason why this song made the list. You see, this particular song happened to be playing during the vodka & bra incident..... Ahh, memories...

Instagram Picture:

I can't really say which picture is my all time favorite but I can say out of all the pictures I posted from my trip in November, the one I posted early one morning of me on Playa de Mismolaya was very much liked and the one I received the most direct messages:

New Year Resolutions:

I've always said it's better to break the rules than obey them. That maybe true but I think this year I'll be making a resolution. It's no secret I love fashion. I live it. I breathe it. As much as I love fashion, I love writing a teeny bit more. This past year I feel as if I've been neglecting my love & passion for it. Work has certainly kept me busy that at times I found myself making excuses. I promise myself to not make any more excuses and to find the time. Writing is my happy place.

My loyal and dear readers, my Lovelies, from the bottom of my Colombian Heart I want to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to visit my blog. I wish you all Love, Good Health & Fortune & Peace In 2016.

Happy New Year!
May You All Find Your Light!

XOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess

Happy New Year, Miss Princess, and thanks for letting us see your costumes again. The Halloween one was my favourite, I think. I'm sure you'll continue to be a feast for the eyes in 2016!
