In a few hours a brand spanking New Year will be upon us and I for one am looking forward to 2017. 

On Christmas I went with sissy-poo to the movies to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

First off, it wasn't until I actually got into my seat at the movies I was informed it wasn't a sequel to that last one I saw. It's some type of prequel to one of the originals. Anyways, the last scene I remember before falling asleep is when Chirrut Îmwe gets a sack thrown over his head. And when I woke up Darth Vader was on the screen!

This happened last year with me at the movies and sure enough it was New Year's Eve. Hmm, I don't think the Sandman has a keen sense of time.

On the way home  after seeing Star Wars we heard on the radio about singer George Michael passing away. And then two days later, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) died and literally the next day news came of her mother's passing, Debbie Reynolds. 

Some are calling Debbie Reynolds death a case of broken heart syndrome.

2016 was truly amazing to me, little did I know that 14 days into 2016 my life was going change in such a positive way. I adore you beyond words my darling & am looking forward to us, our lives and more in 2017. Mwaaah!!

For all those who will be partying into the wee hours of the morning, in case you wake up with a massive hangover, relief is in sight because according to 007, here's his hangover remedy that he swears by.

And don't forget when counting down to the New Year there's an extra second.....3, 2, 1, zero

Cruel Beast

It was only a matter of a time but Canada is going through a bit of a cold snap right now. Cities from Vancouver to Windsor to Toronto are under cold weather alerts, while corners of the Canadian North are making their first plunge below minus 40 degrees Celsius. But to zero in on just how miserably chilly it is, one of the newspapers, the National Post dug through world climatological readings, historical temperature readings and called up a bunch of planetary scientists who probably had better things to do and found out among other things that Mars and Russia is indeed warmer than Toronto.

Temperatures has plunged to -22C for us up here and if that's not bad enough it's snowing with next to zero visibility. 

It's official. I hate winter. Mother Nature you are a cruel beast. 

Ahhh.....counting the days til I'm back in the tropics sunning my buns and evening out my tan.

Canadian Geese Are Nervous

Well, it's been quite a week, a shocking week in the world of politics. The unthinkable happened. Donald Trump beat Hilary Clinton and is now the President Elect. 

Interestingly enough on the night of the election  Canada’s immigration website crashed due to a high volume of Americans visiting the site when the U.S. election results started to come in. 

Living right next door to the United States we poutine-eating people are naturally filled with anxiety with Trump winning the Presidency but you know who else are anxiety ridden? Our Canadian Geese. They're nervous about flying south this winter as rumor has it Trump will be shortly announcing his #1 priority as President Of The United States Stop is to deport all Canadian Geese from the US.

Have you heard about the killer clown sightings?


After a wave of "creepy" clowns were spotted across the United States late this summer, the phenomenon seems to have migrated north all the way up here in Canada. Why are these sightings spreading?

"Killer clown" sightings have been investigated by local police in Gatineau, Quebec, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and Bowmanville, Ontario, Toronto, and Ottawa. More reports have spread on Twitter and Facebook.

Since late last summer, "killer clowns" have been spotted from Alabama to Nova Scotia. Schools in Texas and Alabama have shut down, and police have made a handful of arrests - both for people making false reports and for people actually dressing up in clown costumes.


The paranoia has even reached the White House, where press secretary Josh Earnest had to field questions about the president's stance on "creepy clowns" during a press briefing last month.

The creepy clown problem has gotten so bad that the US's second-largest discount retailer, Target, made the decision to pull creepy clown costumes and masks off its store shelves just before Halloween, despite the fact that clown costume sales have skyrocketed this season.

What is behind the ‘creepy clown’ sensation?     

Jason Seacat, an associate professor of psychology at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., said while clown sightings are nothing new the recent incidents spread quickly due to a combination of sensational headlines and social media. “It’s like an infection that spreads through social networks,” he said. “If I go into the woods and come out and tell friends and family and put on social media I saw a Sasquatch, inevitably reports of Sasquatch in my area would go up.”

Other suggestions for the creepy clown trend include it’s simply a social media fad or a viral marketing stunt for a remake the Stephen King novel “It” which is currently shooting in Toronto. Producers for the film, which is scheduled to be released September 2017, have denied any association with the sightings.

Aside from needing their head examined, I myself have no theory as to why someone would want to dress up like a clown and scare the living daylights out of someone. All I can say is, if I ever came face to face with a clown such as the one below, it's more than likely I would drop to the ground from fainting. 

I wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween and for the love of God--- do not hand out anything healthy--- apples, raisins or frigging dental floss! Because truly you are asking to have your windows egged! Chocolate! Hand the trick or treaters chocolate!

All I can say is Wow! Have I been so busy that I totally missed my blog-a-versary? Apparently that seems to be the case. 

10 days ago my blog celebrated it's 8th anniversary. Sheesh! 8 years I've been blogging and this post is #683. 

I remember the passion I had for writing when I first started. The passion is still there but then work and so many things started to get in the way that writing kind of got pushed to one side, however....

That soon will be changing. I'll be focusing much more on my writing in the coming months.

Wow! I can't believe it's been over a month since I've posted an entry. So much has happened--- I went to Miami and then came back home for a few weeks only to return again to the Sunshine State, came home where shortly after I was struck with a terrible case of Strep Throat. So terrible that aside from the pain I lost my voice!! But I'm happy to say I'm on the mend and my voice is returning. Well sort of. Currently it sounds a little groggy but I've been assured by my doctor my voice will return to normal shortly.

I'm literally counting the days til I'm back in Miami with my one and only. Soon babe, soon.

And I'll be back to writing......which I know I've been neglecting.

I can't believe it's already June but then again most of my time has been either spent working or visiting sissy in the hospital. *Sigh* She's still there (44 days) and it won't be until at least another month or so until she receives another assessment on whether she can be discharged or not.

As someone close in my heart said to me, "every step is one more closer to going home."

Unfortunately sissy-poo had an accident which landed her in the hospital. Next Wednesday will mark 1 month since she was admitted. Before & after work my days are spent with her which is why I've been absent from blogging.

Thankfully she's going to be okay but her recovery is going to take some time.  By the way, how cute are her Toms? I do love Flamingos!

So no worries, I'm still here.

March Storm

Mother Nature managed to spare us this year from hardly any snow-- in fact not only did we have a green Christmas but it happened to be a very mild December, the same could be said for January. Unfortunately in February temperatures dipped down to -39C with windchill but there was still no snow on the ground....until this past Tuesday that is when Mother Nature decided to slam us with a snow storm. 

The morning after....

Yes those are my footprints.....or a better choice of words would be boot prints!

I suppose it could have been worse--- usually weather like this begins in November. Hmm, could Mother Nature be finally softening up on us Canadians?

Super Bowl 50 Weekend

It's Super Bowl Weekend aka The Most Epic Cheat Day Ever!! Mmm....I can already taste those yummy chicken fingers.

This may come as a shock but I don't follow football. Up here in the Great White North it's all about hockey. The only thing that interests me about football is The Super Bowl and that's only because of the food, the commercials and the half-time show.

From what I know the teams that will be playing are The Denver Bronocs and The Carolina Panthers. 

So which team do I think will take home the glorious trophy? I have no idea however if you were to ask me which team uniform I like best----

 The Carolina Panthers. 

May the best team win!!

Groundhog's Day---- CANCELLED

Today is Groundhog's Day and it's with extreme sadness that I write a death has occurred......  Excuse me while I grab a Kleenex.

Winnipeg Willow, who is the equivalent of Punxsutawney Phil was found dead on Friday. Willow, who was five when she died, came to the centre in 2010 after her mother was killed by a dog.

Winnipeg Willow died at the province’s Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. She will be remembered for her love of kale, sweet potatoes, peanuts and carrots, a treat she was last seen enjoying before she died without warning Friday evening. She was five years old.

Hmm, she was found dead? Without any warning? 

What does that exactly mean and why was there no mention of an autopsy report? Surely one must have been conducted and if not why? Could it be the Prairie Wildlife  Rehabilitation Centre is doing some type of life insurance fraud?

How did this beloved Canadian icon die?  She was last seen eating her favorite treat. Could she have been poisoned? My bets are on a rival woodchuck who wanted her job. 

If by chance Willow died of natural causes I wonder if it was Post-Traumatic Syndrome-- after-all her mother was murdered by a four legged beast. Or maybe, just maybe the stress of fame got to Willow and she took her own life.

Kidding aside, Groundhog Day Celebrations have been cancelled.

So now I wonder, if the Groundhog is dead does this mean winter is also officially dead and spring is around the corner for us?
