"Turn Up The Radio"

Cocaine Princess here.

Today, August 16th the "Queen Of Pop" celebrates a birthday. I’ve been lucky enough to see Madonna live in concert many times and truly she is one of a kind. One of the things I love and admire most about her is she isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind and doesn’t care what anyone thinks-- most recently Madonna has been vocal about urging Russian authorities to free three members of the band Pussy Riot, who are on trial for staging a "punk prayer." She said, among other things, that President Vladimir Putin should free the three young female band members from prison and asserted that the Russian Orthodox Church is corrupt. You can read all about it here.

54 years old and still showing no sign of slowing down. Check out her latest video, "Turn Up The Radio." I love her homage to French style icon Brigitte Bardot with the teased blonde hair held back by a wide black headband and lots of winged black eyeliner.

Also, today marks the King Of Rock & Roll’s anniversary. Elvis Presley fans have already descend on Graceland for a candlelight vigil on the 35th anniversary of his death. Gone but definitely not forgotten.
XOXOXOXO,                                                                                                              Cocaine Princess

I can't wait till Fridays to see what has been happening in ur world. I have to get to work. And then there r things I have to do there first. Today is Thursday right? I tell u sometimes I just do not know what day it is. I will be back with comment soon.

Madonna has always had an awesome body. And I have listened to her from the beginning. Yes. I am old enough to remember her during her early years.

I live where Elvis used to live. Memphis true but also in the place that he used to live when he was 14/15 years old. They are called Uptown Square Apartments. It is a green oasis in downtown Memphis. They used to be the "Projects". However, as with anything they revitalized them and they are a Hip Place to live now. Back in the day, they must have built "Projects" to withstand time. U cannot hear ur neighbors and they are like little houses. They have character! Awesome antique type doors. I live in a studio. I like small places. But it is just perfect for me and Buttons. There are six in my group which appear to be "cottage" like house. Three attached together and the other three facing us. Currently, there are six women in each of these little homes me included. We watch over each other. We are various ages with varied careers. All races and cultures. I watch over them and they watch over me. We also have little patios with small garden areas. Sometimes, I feel like I am in a village somewhere in England. They are kept up nicely with great landscaping. I was walking Buttons last night about midnight and we went by the pool. I considered jumping in right then with Buttons. Really, I did. It was so quiet and peaceful. If u were to look beyond where we live, you can see the buildings all downtown. It is quite a nice place to live. Imagine living in a little village but u are right where all the action is plus u have a beautiful river with a park just a few blocks away. Actually, I am very blessed to be where I am right now. I feel safe and secure in one of the cities with the highest crime rate.

As always, I enjoy receiving word from u. I think today I will go back and read some of your older blogs.

I am so very tired today. I am trying to find a new normal for me and Buttons. We had a sleepless night last night. The pup (Buttons) and me. Buttons did not sleep well last night and he kept coming and waking me. I could not quite figure out what he was needing. We would go outside. I noticed finally he began to eat again last night. I have kept him busy with walks so that he just sleeps when I am away. We both are missing Patches terribly. Soon I will buy a bike with a basket and I will take him bike riding down by the river and to various parks. As well, we plan on traveling too.

I will take my blog down to one day only--Sundays.

Take care my faraway friend. Have a good weekend as well.

Well, there will be very little work done today by me. It is a good thing I can transcribe very fast.

I am just not in the mood to work right now.

What I have been doing is reading ur blog...yep I went to the beginning and started in 2007. I figured I'd better start at the beginning.

It will take me a while to get through. One I have ADD but I make no excuses. However, in order, to understand my new friend I feel it very important to read everything she has written.

I do have one question. I am sure u have addressed it in ur blog and I will run across it but it may take some time. U are writing a book or several books? Trying to get them published. I am curious what type of book are u writing. Is it about ur life experiences? I would love an opportunity to read it. Would u consider sending me a copy of it? I certainly understand if u are wanting to keep it to urself until it is published. My feelings would not be hurt. I love to read. And, of course, you know that I love reading ur blog. Our lives are very different of course. But as I've said before u are "a country gal in ur heart."

Miss Stormy Marples at 11:05,
I've always wanted to be a writer since I was little but then I got this fantastic opportunity to model. I do believe in my heart I'll be published. It's somewhat about my life experiences.

I certainly understand taking advantage of an opportunity. And modeling is an excellent opportunity. Only few are beautiful enough to be models. It will be wonderful to see ur story get published. However, long it takes. Writing is such a wonderful thing. Reading is something I love to do. I would love to be able to be a History Professor of some sort and have special relationships with my students. I have to read now about history. Who knows where we will end up or who we will become. I love to be a part of some people's lives. I love to have what I consider to be special people come and be a part of my life. I never may meet them but I have a communication with them of some sort. I do not allow many to get close to me. I prefer a select few. It is just easier to take care of a few very well than to have loads of people in ur life that u cannot really develop a caring relationship with. I really do hope that u and I will be lifetime communicators. It will be so interesting to see how our lives turn out. We may never meet. We may never know what the other looks like. But ur stories intrigue me. I've said this to u before. U may have many advantages to see and do things most will not. I am not envious (jealous) but love to read about ur life. I am joyful that u have opportunities to go to all these wonderful places and know different kinds of people. But I am going to give u a much deserved comment. U are down-to-Earth like a country gal. And the other thing I like about u is that u communicate back. U take the time to respond. That says a lot to me about ur character. Most r selfish. I can tell that u are not a selfish person. U r a giving person. A considerate and loving person. I have limited time. Working 70 hours and whatnot. So I have to spend my time wisely even during my free time. Ur blog is one that I will read. I have let a few blogs go. I do not read them anymore for various reasons. We discussed this in a personal email. I derive much enjoyment from ur blog. I look forward to Fridays. If u ever decide to let someone read ur story before it is published, I hope that I earn ur trust and u will allow me to be one of those people. Trust takes time. I understand that.

Thank u for ur thoughtful comments towards me and Buttons. I love my pups very much. I don't expect people to love them like I do but I hope they can open their minds and understand how u can love some breathing creature so much.

Take care luv. I have to get to work now. Unfortunately, I would much prefer to be reading ur blog. But one must earn their paycheck.

Have a fabulous weekend and week. And I look forward to next Friday's blog.

Thank you for your kind and generous words. One of the best things about blogging is all the wonderful people I've met. I make the time to respond back because I appreciate all my loyal readers. You don't need to look forward to next Friday's blog because I posted one this Friday.
