Cocaine Princess here.
If you've been hearing a loud, terrible, hacking cough followed by what seems to be an endless amount of sneezes from up north, there's a perfectly good explanation for it. I don't know how but it seems a nasty cold has taken up residence inside of me and now it refuses to vacate the premises.
If I'm not sneezing, I'm coughing. If I'm not coughing, I'm sneezing. Sometimes both happens-- I'll cough and I'll sneeze. Do you have any idea how painful it is to sneeze and cough at the same time? Oh, it's awful! Both my nostrils are blocked and I have the worst sinus pain. My nose is sore from all the blowing and the cough that I've developed has turned my voice into someone who could easily be mistaken for Big Ang from Mob Wives.
I did a shot of Nyquil, after all it is "The Nightime Sniffling Sneezing Coughing Aching Stuffyhead Fever So You Can Rest Medicine." It says so right on the bottle. I filled the little shooter cap right up to its rim with the liquid medicine. Pretending it was a shot of tequila I said, salud, and down the hatch it went. Guess what? It didn't let me rest, not even for one damn minute! I was sneezing and coughing throughout the entire night. The makers behind NyQuil lied! How could they? I really ought to send them a scathing email. The next day I tried Advil Cold & Sinus which promised not only drowsiness but excitability. To be honest I wasn't too sure what that meant. Hmm, did it mean I would break out singing and dancing or was it more of a feeling, such as the excitement I feel when I realize the new Chanel handbag is going to be released soon?! Long story short nothing happened that night. I was neither feeling drowsy nor was there any type of excitement on my end.
So these past couple of days I've been trying to starve this cold of mine. You know what the worst part is? I can't even sleep this damn thing off. I lay in bed with a post nasal drip....Well there was that one night I was sleeping semi-peacefully only to be awoken by my own sneeze. Oh God, why me? Please go away flu.....someplace far, far away.

In other news, today is Elvis Presley's birthday. The King of Rock 'n Roll would have been 78 years old. It's been 36 years since his death and still Elvis is loved and worshiped around the world. What an influence he has had on so many artists too, the popular British boy-band "One Direction" released their latest video titled "Kiss You" where they pay hommage to the King. Hey you...
Good morning!
I hope you are feeling better today, on this 78th anniversary of his birth...
Wow, bless your heart, you DO sound sick... I hope you are better today.
Instead of a shot of Nyquil, you prolly should have gone with Tequila...
Maybe you would have slept better.

I am so sorry that u are feeling very ill. That is an awful feeling.
Only three suggestions to hopefully "help" get u through this time period.
Drink hot tea with lemon and honey. Some suggest "hot toddies" with Whiskey. They actually are making the Whiskey with honey now.
Suck on "hard" candies to help coat ur throat.
Tussionex (prescription cough med). See if u can get a doc to write u prescription. It's expensive here but it helped me so much after I had a cough for three months and lost my voice for two weeks. But I don't mind paying the copay on this little baby cuz it worked. It does have codeine in it so it will make u sleepy.
I know that u have sleeping problems already and this does not help in the sleep area at all.
Thanks again for ur thoughtful comments on my blog. "P" is very much a gentleman. I need the distraction and attention truthfully right now. He is intelligent, polite and kind. And patient. He does not act like he is wounded. And he likes me for me. They way I act. The way I look. And that in itself makes me adore him for being so accepting and calm. He did request one thing and I will honor his request. He wants our relationship/friendship to be between us. Aka don't tell too much on the blog. I agreed.
I am thinking of getting a tv. Don't fall on the floor. I have not had a tv in my home for five years just too busy to watch. But I know u love to watch tv shows. Tell me some good ones. I remember u mentioning one about the Bayou--
Miss Stormy Marples at 9:49,
Thanks so much for the suggestions. If I could just get a good nite's rest I would be thankful. I've sucking on cough candy, it numbs the cough and pain for awhile.
Hmm, the bayou..... The only bayou that comes to mind is a reality show on A&E called "Duck Dynasty" It's a crazy, funny show
about a redneck family that made millions and they live in Louisiana.
My favorite drama show comes on Sunday nites-- "Once Upon A Time" It's about fairy tale characters that live in the present and it's quite a popular show too.
I like a lot of the comedies: "Modern Family" "Guys With Kids" "Suburgatory" "The Big Bang Theory" "Mike & Molly"
Your date with "P" sounded lovely. Yes, one should never "kiss & tell" too much.
Oh the Bayou one was umm--like a vampire one maybe. U had it up in one of ur blogs. I will need to go back and look. I believe it was on HBO. And it seemed to be mystery one too. It had the swamp and the moss hanging from the tree Blood something. U had an audio clip of it.
Last night was very nice. Very comfortable.
Miss Stormy Marples at 10:15,
True Blood!!!! Vampires co-existing with humans. A very addicting HBO series.
I hope you didn't get the flu, it is supposed to be going around hard this year. I tend toward harder drugs to make me sleep. I can withstand anything as long as I can get one of my sinuses to clear.
I hope you feel better today! Nyquil used to work for me when I was younger, but I would always wake up 4 hours later and super wired.
But you should probably go see the doctor, since Nyquil actually took out the drug that is supposed to help people sleep better at night - this is because people were making meth out of Nyquil.
Rest up and drink plenty of water :)
Miss Caught Up at 6:14,
With the exception of a stuffy nose, I'm doing much better, thank you.
Hey my good friend, so sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather, Well, it goes without saying, that I send you oodles of warm wishes and a big "blighty" hug. I recommend a cosy hot water bottle and a hot toddy! That'll do the trick.
As always, take care and I hope you are back to your mischievous self really soon xoxo
Graham at 4:55,
I so needed a hug-- so thank you & hugs back!!
No worries, I'm almost back to my mischievous self.......
